If he did, I would say the house was significantly effected by gerrymandering. The Senate where the entire state’s voters selects its senator is a better gauge. Plus voters know that it’s their Senators that vote on SCOTUS picks.

Schumer May have a point, nationally the electorate (turnout) was D +9...so they got their voters to participate. As is often the case, Republicans were fat and happy and outside of Trump, no one worked to get voters to the polls. The RNC and Republican House and Senate Committees are entirely ineffective.
Defeat focuses...victory can make you lazy. And also the Trump/anti-Trump split in the party is disabling.
