Focus spurred by an incoming class of lawmakers with F NRA ratings who campaigned on the issue ______________________________________________________________________
WASHINGTONDemocrats say they will pass the most aggressive gun-control legislation in decades when they become the House majority in January, plans they renewed this week in the aftermath of a mass killing in a California bar.
Their efforts will be spurred by an incoming class of pro-gun-control lawmakers who scored big in Tuesdays midterm elections, although any measure would likely meet stiff resistance in the GOP-controlled Senate.
Democrats ousted at least 15 House Republicans with A National Rifle Association ratings, while the candidates elected to replace them all scored an F NRA rating.
This new majority is not going to be afraid of our shadow, said Mike Thompson, a California Democrat who is chairman of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force. We know that weve been elected to do a job, and were going to do it.
Mr. Thompson, who represents a district in the Napa Valley north of San Francisco, said he plans to introduce legislation mandating universal background checks in the opening weeks of the new Congress.
The gun-control movements evolution was evident this week following news that a dozen people had been killed Thursday at a country music bar in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

They already terminated elections.
“Let the Leftists in the house occupy themselves with this. It wont go anywhere.”
NEVER assume anything.
Crap like this can be tied to “Must Pass” legislation, especially funding of the gov’t legislation.
Then they can say the “Repubs would rather shut down the gov’t then give up their guns”.
And all the dumb broads in Suburbanville will cry to pass the legislation.
Someone (Wayne Allen Root?) phrased it
“If someone wants to take your guns away, it’s because they want to do something to you that you won’t let them do if you still have your guns”.
“Senate looks like it will be 49/51 or even 51/49 Dem.”
No. The GOP only lost 1 senate seat (Nevada), and at most 2 (the Arizona theft). So, at the very most that would bring the GOP to 49...BEFORE we add the senate seats that the GOP won and that are not undergoing “challenges”: Indiana and Missouri. So, the GOP will have AT LEAST 51 seats to the Rats 49. But, then again, we have Murkowski and Romney to worry about mucking things up, and maybe even Collins.
Also, the GOP will have at least 1 senate pick-up in 2020 when they take back the Alabama seat.
Bingo. Most of the Republican establishment prefers "failure theater" to actually defending the Constitution. And never forget, Mr. Trump (God bless him) is more a populist than a conservative.
Let's assume another mass shooting occurs (pretty safe bet, IMHO). If there is sufficient wide-spread (even 'astro-turfed') public support for a new "assault weapon ban" or similar restrictions, enough RINOs and other establishment Republicans might roll over in the Senate to put a bill on President Trump's desk. Given the possibility that he views at least some of New York's gun restrictions as "normal", he might never reach for his veto pen...
Please do it. Lol. Dumb asses. Put confiscation on it. Try. Prettty please. I cant think of a bigger losing agenda. Carbon credits maybe.
Looking at the current attempts at stealing various senate, house and governor races, I’d say we are close to turning our current cold civil war HOT.
It’s not there yet, but the socialist left is pushing hard thinking they could win against the more sedate conservatives/Republicans. As usual they are overreaching.
I’m prepared. Are you?
That’s all true. I certainly don’t discount that...sad to say.
“....Im prepared. Are you?...”
Just like a good Boy Scout...except I’m not gay.
