When a mob of left-wing Antifa activists descended Wednesday night on Fox News personality Tucker Carlson’s D.C. home, it signaled a new phase in the political violence and angry confrontations that now are targeting the news media.
Political violence has been rising in the U.S. since 2012, according to the Global Terrorism Database. Increasingly aggressive activists have pushed political confrontation to the limit since 2016, accosting Republican lawmakers and Trump administration officials in restaurants and in the halls of Congress. And now they’re going after conservative journalists at their homes.
“Tucker Carlson, we will fight. We know where you sleep at night!” the activists allied with Antifa chanted outside Mr. Carlson’s home.
Antifa is short of anti-fascist, though the group has anarchist leanings and targets anyone perceived as not in step with a far-left agenda.
“Here’s the problem. I have four children,” Mr. Carlson, whose wife was home alone during the disturbance, told Fox News. “I never thought twice about leaving them home alone, but this is the reaction because this group doesn’t like my TV show.”
On Capitol Hill, the overheated political debate has lawmakers increasingly working under a threat of violence.
Capitol police say they saw a surge in protective details assigned to lawmakers earlier in the fall, when senators were facing hallway protests during the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh.
Security details were assigned to at least two Republican senators on the Judiciary Committee, Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Jeff Flake of Arizona.
Security details typically are assigned only to members of leadership.
Senators have mostly been away from Washington since the Kavanaugh confirmation, and it’s not clear whether enhanced security will still be the norm.

Sounds like a target-rich environment. My only concern would be buckshot for dispersion or slugs for penetration.
As one of the 25 million that they want to kill, I would like to say that a great many of us are prepared to defend ourselves with fatal consequences to attackers. Of course they’ll be successful in some cases, but a great number of them will end up in body bags. And like all bullies they’re cowards. And once they see a couple of their buddies’ bodies I suspect they’ll lose their own enthusiasm. Many of us have already seen our friends killed and won’t give up easily

Tag them with skunk spray or the stuff Israel uses
Spray them with ninhydrin. It takes several days minimum for the purple skin to wear off

I would not hold my breath until someone was arrested in reference to your post.
Do you really thing anything will be done in this case? It is currently being "investigated", but police do not feel emboldened enough to make an arrest.
Seems to be a pattern alright. I’m more surprised that Trump doesn’t seem to care about it. I recall when people were getting ambushed after leaving his campaign rallies and he was always boasting that “the safest place to be is a Trump rally” all the time. He just seems to be a little out of sync on this issue.
Too bad Tucker’s wife didn’t answer the door with a shotgun.

Antifa is now officially considered a terrorist organization by the Feds and the US military. They are cruising into a place where they are going to find themselves in really deep Kim chi.
As long as our law enforcement refuses to enforce this will continue and will escalate.
Good. Some of them really deserve it.
They have taken on a global footprint. There were some who went to Syria to fight with the SDF. My friends there shook their heads when they showed up with Guy Fawks masks and the black outfit. The told me they had no sense of presence there. That they were going to get others hurt. I don’t think they really fit in there in a real war.
Possibly they will be soon.
I have to restrain myself from losing hope. I am coming to the uncomfortable conclusion that “United” States no longer defines our national identity, perhaps permanently. This is most worrisome. We’ve always been a nation of roiling political debate - that’s what sparked the Great Experiment of America, obviously. We even survived an internecine shooting war. But I believe we have now reached an event horizon for which most Americans are wholly unprepared. Leftists and fascists are gaining influence. Constitutionalism is losing ground. The battle lines are gaining definition. If this continues unabated, without a course reversal, peaceful coexistence will no longer be possible - leaving only devolution and un-society. Approaching us is a Jeffersonian moment at which the “tree of liberty must be watered, wiith the blood of tyrants and patriots.”
