If you see something, say something. Then let the officials ignore it.

Sad.

If they had committed him, he couldn’t have shot people. Then they couldn’t use it for their advantage.

Dumbass administrators and psychologists. 11 people died because they couldn’t hold him.

Put the Broward County cowards in charge

If there’s a problem

Yo, they’ll solve it

Laws are useless when government bureaucrats don’t enforce them. These state employees should be fired because of gross incompetence. The heart-broken families of this innocent young people should demand it.

“Therefore, a Gun Violence Restraining Order is rarely triggered.”

Not when it’s needed. But increasingly, they will be used for pure gun confiscation. The no-notice seizures have few due process safeguards built in.

Surrender your guns and put your life in the hands of the government. And no one in the bar last night could have lawfully been armed. And the resulting response will be to further punish and oppress legal gun owners. Molon labe.

we have MHProfessionals and if the ones in Cal are similar, there's not a lot of "there" there...pretty skimpy on education and exp and IMO are paper pushers.....

laws do not work if you ignore them.....

my husband had to take his 90 yro old fathers loaded gun away from him....he carried it , loaded, in his walker.....he had already pulled it and pointed it at a family member thinking he was an intruder.....

it was ugly and disheartening and we had to PAY his father for taking his gun away, with money...

our fear is he would accidentally shoot somebody and/or shoot himself and his wife......

these situations are hard but they must be taken care of....

“Anger” and Irrationality” are not only subjective, they are common in normal people. If the individual pulled himself together, calmed down, and then behaved reasonably and cooperatively, what would be the reason for committment? That he would shoot people in the unknown future?

The Left doesn’t want to prevent shootings.

They want to use shootings as an excuse to disarm everyone.

Everyone needs to be disarmed because what the Left wants to do to everyone will not be well received.

The Left fears for its own safety once they start doing to everyone.

I believe there is a pattern here.

Namely, mass murderers who were not locked up for violent behavior and statements.

Meanwhile, how many of the Mental Health Experts are gun control advocates?

Are the Mental Health Experts intentionally releasing these dangerous people in hopes they commit a violent crime?

It isn’t the tools used in murders that are the problem, it is the society that has become debased enough to create murderous people. I would be far less concerned hanging out with a thousand Amish that were carrying AR-15s than I would be buying beer at Altged Garden Liquor on the south side of Chiraq (Chicago).

I laugh at people who think you can have someone “committed” on a whim. Having gone through this process, it takes a significant combined effort of legal and medical people to make it happen.

And if no one utters the phrase, “I want to kill myself, or you” it’s not going to happen in ten minutes.

I wish people would take just a few minutes to learn about what they are voicing an opinion on.

I still haven’t heard anything about his political leanings (although his being dressed in black does sound familiar and would explain why he attacked a country music bar).

The common thread in too many of these shootings is “he had mental health issues”. MENTAL ISSUES

The guns are benign items. The ammo is benign, also.

The gun didn’t start the shooting without a “mentally ill” person squeezing the trigger.

Until this country reopens the mental hospitals & puts these people there, this isn’t going to stop.

Quit blaming the guns. There are millions of gun owners in the USA who have NEVER caused a problem. They should NOT be punished for the behavior of the mentally ill.

Family after family tells the media AFTER an incident that the person involved was ‘mentally ill’. Allowing those mentally ill persons to stay in the population until they cause a serious problem is a gamble that politicians are putting onto citizens, and we don’t deserve that from the politicians. They have the power to open up the mental hospitals & to legislate that disturbed persons are placed there.

Start blaming the politicians & the ACLU for closing down the mental hospitals we already had in operat9ion.
