Various press organizations have decided to chime on the Trump administration's decision to revoke Jim Acosta's hard press pass on Wednesday night.
The White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) slammed the White House and encouraged them to reinstate Acosta's access in a statement:
The White House Correspondents' Association strongly objects to the Trump Administration's decision to use US Secret Service security credentials as a tool to punish a reporter with whom it has a difficult relationship. Revoking access to the White House complex is a reaction out of line to the purported offense and is unacceptable
Journalists may use a range of approaches to carry out their jobs and the WHCA does not police the tone or frequency of the questions its members ask of powerful senior government officials, including the President. Such interactions, however uncomfortable they may appear to be, help define the strength of our national institutions.
We urge the White House to immediately reverse this weak and misguided action.
We encourage anyone with doubts that this reaction was disproportionate to the perceived offense to the video of the events from earlier today.
The Reporters Committee For Freedom of the Press had a similar sentiment as the WHCA. Here's their press release:
The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, the nations premier defender of the legal rights of journalists, joins the White House Correspondents Association in vehemently objecting to the revocation of a CNN reporters access credentials. Journalists have a right to ask questions and seek answers on behalf of the American people.
This is clearly inappropriate and unprecedented punishment by the Trump administration for what it perceives as unfair coverage by the reporter, and White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders false description of the events leading up to it is insulting not only to the nations journalists, but to its people.
The founders of our country knew there would be tension between our leaders and our journalists. In fact, they designed our system that way, knowing that a free and assertive press is the best defense against tyranny.
We urge the White House to reconsider this overreach of power and to reinstate Jim Acostas credential immediately.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the Trump administration stands by their decision.
Dont they know that DJT doesnt care about what they think? Isnt that what they have been apoplectic about since he announced his candidacy?
I know. It is EASY to spot the Leftists and the anti-Trumpers on FoxNews.
Dreamworks?
So true
Excellent point.
Would love to have seen PDJT come down off that podium and tell Acosta, that you never touch one of my staff and to get the hell out of the briefing room. Hope that Acosta would be stupid enough to put a hand on the President and watch the secret service take him down.
The “reporters” should be required to sit and remain silent until called upon by the President...Anyone speaking without being called upon should be ejected...Anyone speaking after receiving answer to their ONE question should be ejected...Anyone interrupting either the President or the “reporter” who was called upon should be ejected....Anyone being disrespectful to anyone in the room should be ejected...
Two ejections and you are refused entry to any press conference again...
Wonderful negotiation and persuasion skills. Someone send this idiot a copy of The Art of the Deal, stat.
All the MSM nitwits can pack up and scoot, IMO. Only downside is not having the President’s message get out...HAHAHAHA.
I dont know if anyone else caught it, but it sure looked like the President was coming out from behind the podium. Me thinks to kick Acostas ass. Just my observation.

Bogus!

Boo Hoo!
“We urge the White House to immediately reverse this weak and misguided action.”
I agree. Acosta should have been beaten to a bloody pulp for touching the intern and not just politely escorted out of the White House.
Good video. Clearly, he should not have touched her.
Except Acosthole isn’t silenced, he can still blather all day long, he just can’t do it from inside the White House grounds.
These arrogant sleaze bags will eventually do a walkout of a press briefing at some point-—please let it be! To which Trump can say fine, all passes revoked. When I have a press release I will send out my press secretary or if I do a press conference you can all go through the security process again.
I did hear there was a call to boycott the briefings. Awesome. Double dog dare them to do it. Make us NOT suffer through inane assclown questions.
It wasn’t “unfair coverage.” He’s a rude, arrogant bully.
That was nothing. The same kind of nothing that the Goebblesmedia went nuts about the Trump campaign aide during the election.
What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
