The head of the Democratic National Committee said Thursday that President Trump’s “firing” of Attorney General Jeff Sessions doesn’t pass the “smell test” and said that it conjures up memories of former President Richard Nixon’s “Saturday massacre.”
But DNC Chairman Tom Perez shied away from saying he would support the liberal calls for impeachment of Mr. Trump if acting Attorney General Matthew G. Whitaker ends special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe.
“What happened yesterday doesn’t pass the smell test,” Mr. Perez said at a breakfast sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor.

This is why it probably didn’t help Trump to wait on firing Sessions. They’re gonna do their impeach thing no matter what. Get it on, sooner rather than later.

The entire investigation and the conflicts of interest within Mueller’s team are what smells.
The sudden rabid support of Sessions since Trump fired him by Democrats from Brennan to Perez to the Antifa Street thugs is what does not pass any smell test.
Their support of Session makes him look like someone who received 30 pieces of silver to betray his leader.

I said the same thing on another thread last night. He was asked to resign, so he resigned. If he had refused to resign, then Trump would have fired him. I’m sick of the left’s play on words.
So true. Trump didn’t say “ your fired” . He gave him the gentlemanly way to end it gracefully by allowing him to resign..

He strongly hinted that in his press conference yesterday, and unlike “ Barry O “ I think he drew a red line he will not let them cross.
“At the request of the president, I submit my resignation.” =”You’re fired!” It’s almost like a TV show. OH.......
Agreed, do it and get it out of the way if they’re gonna do it, the sooner the better.
If he was fired, the President couldn’t appoint Whitaker via the Vacancies Act. That’s why it is directly in that letter.
So we’re governing by doing smell tests now.
