Resigned rather than fired is much much better. He resigned at Trump's request. No difference.

Amen, brother!
(We hear that, at very minimum, the Rosenweasel will be dismissed from playing pointman for Mueller).

Now who is going to make those nice Keebler Sandies?

Trump will have more latitude in the new Senate to replace cabinet officials as needed, with Flake and Corker gone, and a bigger margin. Don't forget McCain also gone. We would never have gotten Kavanaugh if McCain were alive.

What up with the dickish title?

...he can run for Senate against Doug Jones in Alabama and re-take his old seat Sessions deliberately stood aside and allowed the deep state coup plotters to get away with the most egregious crime in US history - all while leaving the President exposed to a heinous witch hunt that dogged his first two years in office.
The man doesn't deserve to be elected dog catcher of Podunk, Alabama.

Jeff Sessions had that offer already and at this point that offer is gone.

"Affect" and "effect" are commonly used incorrectly, my good FRiend; and I do appreciate your interest in good grammar and usage.
That said, however, and from Grammarly.com...
Affect is usually a verb, and it means to impact or change. Effect is usually a noun, an effect is the result of a change.

You misunderstand— he was a bad administrator, too long in the Beltway world- and thus eminently played by the little greaseball Rosenstein- but pragmatically, he could take this seat in a heartbeat (see his percentages for re-election in prior years) and be useful politically. Don’t misconstrue the notion of this with defending his poor performance as AG. He is, after all, just a pawn- the better to be “in place” in service to the Executive, who has remarkably re-written what constitutes a “Republican”. The devil we know IOW, in a position we could use, on the wave in 2020. Not that the Senate, per se, is a club of people of integrity (NJ re-elected freaking Menendez, a serious pedophile and grafter).

Love to have an AG who isn’t known. Some tough district chief who doesn’t say much but has a trail of legal victories on his resume.

Sorry, ...well then Jim is being Dickish.

That may come, but I am not sure of the grounds that concern you. Is it the allocation of money in some key races?
