So then, the Dems made modest gains in the House, but less than expected.

And the Republicans gained more Sensre seats than expected.

And the GOP won some key governors races.

It’s tough time lose the House, but, that was expected.

If measured against expectations and punditry, the GOP had a very good election.

The Democrats in the House will launch their crusade against Trump, but what are the odds that this crusade will give them results and a record to run on in 2020?

I’m doing a bit more tea leaf reading, and there’s a concerning trend starting to emerge.

States like my home of Florida are slowing twisting into purplish melting pots. The urban bleed is starting to impact formerly bright red parts of the state, and this is happening in other states. While Ron deSantis won the gubernatorial race, it was by a razor-thin margin. Couple that with a dozen horrible “constitutional amendments” that passed handily, and I think the decades-old progressive strategy of dumbing down the electorate is starting to pay dividends.

Florida elected to restore voting rights to felons, and I fear that’s going to turn our tenuously purple state into a more reliably blue state in the next election. This election cycle proved that the MSM owns the conversation in our country, and I believe they are emboldened to continue to enhance the bully pulpit through media organizations like Google, Yahoo, Facebook, and Twitter as those platforms wade deeper into partisan political waters.

Nice summary. Unless something egregious ones up in these endless house and muleass investigations I would look to the post watergate elections. 1976 ford lost and we got killed in the Congress primarily due to ford pardoning Nixon together with the watergate hangover. In 78 we picked up 15 house and 3 senate seats as the country got to see the Abzug drynan holtzman group in action along with carter. In came Reagan in 80 and the die was set with a diminished dem Congress albeit they had the majority.

The GOP had a good election? Trump may have to move left. The left got away with an attempted coup. Mob mentality worked and rewarded.
