Two condemned multiple murderers, including a convicted serial killer, apparently committed suicide within hours of each other on the nations largest death row, according to California officials on Monday.

I guess CA decided to find out how long do inmates have to spend on Death Row before they off themselves?
Yeah, one had been convicted in 2004. Why was he still getting 3 hots and a cot? How long does it take to run through appeals?
A win-win, as they say.
CC
The were Andrew Urdiales and Virendra Goven.
Urdiales was convicted in California for murdering five women, but prior to that he had been convicted in Illinois for killing three additional people.
Govin was convicted for killing four people.
An interesting comment, if I’m reading it right...
The next line was “He went to the chair two years ago, Frank.”
I guess we can up those tallys now.
They should do a study on which meds cause severe depression and pass them out.
The Govin murders were over a business dispute. Veerendra Govin and his brother Pravin, and a third man named Carlos Amador, killed the family of a business rival; killers and victims were owners of two separate hotels that were located next to each other.
Both Govin brothers got the death penalty. Accomplice Amador got four 15-years-to-life sentences, to be served concurrently.
Urdiales attacked and raped at least two other women in addition to the eight he is known to have murdered; these two survived only because they were able to escape. One released herself from the trunk of Urdiales’ car after he raped her in a remote area.
AMEN.
Well, all is well that ends well.
Once in custody, who knows what might happen.
It's not like we have the FBI or federal prison workers we can trust. Money will buy you a lot.
Well, I’m not much into pop culture and am not acquainted with the references.
I do know that we and our sciences and legal institutions are very fallible; and until they are infallible - if that ever happens - the death penalty as a legal institution is a moral mistake.
(I’ve sometimes thought that treason in time of war might be an exception to that; but even then, it seems more expedient to keep them locked up and alive...)
California does not have old sparky.
This should be encouraged on “death row” everywhere.....
Too bad they didn’t do it about 40 years ago.
In Tennessee it can take over 30 years. Last week’s execution was after 34 year of trials and appeals.
740 to go.. 2018 has been a tough one for the residents of DR San Quentin .. quite a few ‘opted out’ early.
Very expensive proposition.
Saved the tax payers some money
