I won’t be going outside for lightning shots tonight. There’s rain ahead of the storms and with the strong winds already, that will be more than enough to keep me inside. Maybe there’ll be some lightning to the north and I can get shots through the bedroom window though. That’s the only window with a clear shot - - no trees on that side.
I’ve been reading chat too. The storm is well past Dickson Co. now. I’m following it on the radar.
They haven’t said a word on the 10:00 news about wind damage anywhere so far. They’re more concerned with letting people know where the storms and tornados are so they can be prepared. We’ll hear about wind damage on the 4 a.m. news, I’m sure.
I thought I saw a few rain drops fall at Dale Hollow but very little wind yet. Of course, you’re seeing the same thing I am. It’s the storms to the west that are so angry!
There will be some light rain first, and fairly soon, then heavier rain before the storms hit in earnest. There’s a storm with a tornado warning headed straight for that area at the moment. With luck it will be just a thunderstorm when it hits.
Things went relatively smoothly today, but I was so busy that I wish I had another full day before we have to run edits. Not happening, but oh well.
Did you get caught up on sleep? Normal sleeping hours?
EEK! No tornadoes! And thank goodness there are no babies there right now!
Well, at least things went smoothly instead of a lot of problems to slow things down even more. I reckon there’s no such thing as a perfect day at that place. :-(
Still not totally caught up but getting there. And almost back to normal sleeping hours. LOL!
No babies but poor Obey and River have worked so hard to rebuild their nest. I hope it doesn’t get blown out of the tree.
I do, too. I had noticed that it was looking better than it did about 3 weeks ago. It was a mess then. LOL!
They had to start from scratch, like Raimis and Milda did. The nest was blown out by a storm this summer. It would be such a shame if they have to start from scratch again.
Thanks, unique.
Luv.....#50!!

Oh, goodness. I didn’t see that it had been blown completely out. No wonder it looked so messy at first, when the cam was back on.
MRS SandEat & I VOTED REPUBLICAN. ALL The Way! !
I was shocked when I saw no nest a while back. This was not a good year for eagles and their nests, was it? Several were knocked out of the trees.
That’s true. Not a good year at all. Think of all the nests that lost eaglets last year. I hope this season is better!
Yes, there were a lot of eaglets lost this year. Last year, it was storklets and they had a banner year this year. Maybe the eagles will have one this season.
I hope so. Too much sadness this year.
Dale Hollow seems to just be getting a nice rain right now, but it looks like the wind is picking up. Maybe the nest will hold like Raimis’s did. I was shocked that that one wasn’t in a gazillion pieces after the storm they had!
How's everyone this morning? Get out and vote today.
Dale Hollow didn’t get hit too badly tonight and the nest is just fine.
We weren’t so lucky. It wasn’t a direct hit but a tornado passed TOO CLOSE by and we have a mess. The only damage to the house is the tin was peeled off the roof over the front porch but that won’t affect the inside of the house. One large pecan tree is down and a smallish maple, and small branches are scattered everywhere. It’s a mess but we were lucky overall. That storm was horrendous!
Apparently a tree fell across the RR tracks because a train is sitting out there now. The tracks run alongside Hubby’s cousin’s farm next door and we can hear the engine running while they wait for the tracks to be cleared.
The freakiest thing was seeing blue lightning! I’ve seen pink, orange, and red before but never blue. It was bizarre.
I guess we’ll see just where the tornado tracked tomorrow when it’s light, and see how much damage there is in the surrounding area.
