Twitter: Vox Editor Suggests Crisis if Dems Win “Popular Vote” But Lose House
Twitter / Vox Editor Ezra Klein ^

Posted on 11/05/2018 3:02:03 PM PST by TigerClaws

I don't think people are ready for the crisis that will follow if Democrats win the House popular vote but not the majority.

After Kavanaugh, Trump, Garland, Citizens United, Bush v. Gore, etc, the party is on the edge of losing faith in the system (and reasonably so).

Just because one House district has 120% voter turnout (manufactured votes) doesn’t make it any more important than a House district with 40% voter turnout.

One can only guess they are thinking that they will win socialist districts in Brooklyn by 90:10, but then lose districts in places like MI or OH by 52:48

And that wouldn’t be fair

Or something like that....

Getting so sick of this crap.

The American people don’t vote “collectively.”

We the people vote as separate parts of the whole, as towns and cities, as counties, as legislative and senatorial districts, as congressional districts and states, and congressional districts WITHIN states.

This is republican government, and seems to be eating the left alive. For as power is separated and divided, it cannot be consolidated. They cannot grasp all of it at once.

And that is the point!!

There is no electoral college in local elections...

Just tells you the intellect of these morons. Most are barely in their twenties.

Same thing happened in 2014. The talking heads lamented that if you added up all the votes nationwide for (D) candidates, the Democratic Part received more votes than the Republican Party did.

Again, who cares? The national popular vote is a game nobody is playing.

In 2016 my congressman, Democrat Pete Visclosky, got 207,000 votes —82% against a Libertarian. In Wyoming, Republican Liz Cheney got 158,000 — 60% of the vote —in the entire state. What does the one have to do with the other?

I believe the Dems got more votes overall in 2016 because I heard a talking head bring it up. Maybe the solution is to do away with districts and have 435 at-large members of Congress elected natiowide so yahoos in Wyoming can’t stand in the way of big liberal states and urban areas having the power that is rightfully theirs.

Deep Blue areas (inner cities) vote 90% D. Most Republican areas are really purple with just a hint of the red. They voter 52% R.

The result is that Republicans win more seats. The Democrats might win the popular vote.

But wait, another factor enters. Voter turnout and total votes cast in areas that vote 90% D is far lower than total votes cast in purple areas tinged red.

The result? Who knows?

Democrats are stupid...

Whenever they lose they simply try to delegitimize the system... even though that same system created how many democrat majorities over the centuries?

They are enemies within.

What will it take for these uneducated morons to realize we are not a democracy.

It's not just them. It's Republicans and conservatives, and at times, even Trump says this garbage too.

Not a Democracy. Doesn't appear anywhere in the Constitution. Democracy is simply the flash point where it progresses into socialism, and then Communism.

Thanks TigerClaws. Another Partisan Media Shill regurg'ing a DNC talking point, but in a way that makes no sense. I mean, even less than usual.

We already know democrats won't accept losing. We just have to make sure it happens, because there's not a damn thing they can about it after that.

They know. This is another lame attempt to do away with the electoral college based on a false narrative.

Never let a crisis go to waste, even if it’s your own.
