Two New York lawmakers are working to draft a bill that would propose a social media check before a gun purchase.
Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and state Sen. Kevin Palmers proposal would allow authorities to review three years of social media history and one year of internet search history of any person seeking to purchase a firearm....
The two are hoping to identify any hate speech on social media profiles, which are often revealed only after someone is arrested in a mass shooting.

“shall not be infringed”....unless we find you posted something we disapprove of...like your interest in guns.....
Oh yeah, that lines up with the constitution.
It’s NY.
Nothing surprises me.
It’s NYS. Albany don’t need no stinkin’ Constitution.
Adams is a moron. He is simply too stupid for words.
What happens when you dont have a social media presence?
What Constitution?
The one that says Barry Soetoro can’t be President?
We left that behind on Usurpation Day, January 20, 2009 when ALL of our elected and appointed allowed an ineligible usurper into the Oval Office.
I think we need to see one year of internet search history on these government legislators.
It’s easy to scoff and laugh at this crap now. Just wait ten years.
If it makes anyone feel any better, rumor has it NYS’ll lose another 1 to 2 House seats after the next census.
So less juice in the chamber with the power of the purse.
Good luck finding my name on social media. I haven’t had a public presence since deactivating my real-named Twitter account in 2007. I have a variety of Facebook, Twitter, and other social media accounts but not in my real name. And it’s child’s play for me to create a FB or Twit account in someone ELSE’S name, and backdate entries if I wish, but it’s identity theft and I have no plans on committing a crime.
And I do own 8 firearms, and 10 by the end of this year, with corresponding ammunition quantities.
And they'll decide what constitutes "hate speech" - things like "Trump 2020" or "God Bless America." Only a hate-filled bigot would write such things.
The ability of the police to review one year of your internet search history would seem potentially more problematic
Then you're someone who is unstable and waiting to go postal at any moment. No gun sale for you! /s

Yep, search all they want. They won’t tie me to the meat world...
Would all of those reposts of cute kitty and doggie videos disqualify someone?
asking for a friend...
I’ll bet it wouldn’t be long before FR membership would be a flag to stop you from buying a gun.
The stupid burns
