RUMFORD, Maine Upstart Democrat Jared Golden is warning national party leaders that cultural intolerance and arrogant cosmopolitanism are driving away working-class voters.
Golden could oust Republican Rep. Bruce Poliquin in Tuesdays midterm elections in a rural district that backed President Trump two years ago and still supports his agenda, delivering a potentially fatal blow to the GOPs teetering majority. But the state legislator and Marine combat veteran arrived here by separating himself from the coastal liberals that have come to dominate the Democratic Party in the 21st century.
Its not just about cultural issues like guns or others. It is, I think, a very black and white, who are you fighting for, who do you represent? Are you with special interests; are you with big corporations; are you with CEOs, are you with groups that might want to fund your campaigns? Or are you with working people, Golden told the Washington Examiner in an interview as he campaigned across Maines 2nd Congressional District.
Goldens authentic, everyman image isnt convincing everyone.
Over an early lunch at the Pop Shoppe Diner in Lewiston, Goldens home base, retired short-order cook Paul Cote, 57, said hes sticking with Poliquin. Hes cocky, Cote said of the Democrat. I dont think hes right for it. And yes, Cote is a big fan of Trump. Hes not afraid to open his mouth; hes not afraid to talk, he said.
Golden, 36, is trying to something that hasnt been done in more than 100 years: oust a 2nd District incumbent. Maines ranked-choice voting, used to decide races in which the winner falls short of 50 percent of the vote, could be a boost. On the trail and in television ads, Golden is casting himself as an old school labor Democrat culturally conservative but liberal on fiscal...

I looked at your screen name, guess your a little tired of those Maine winters?
He lies. Hell vote as Nancy Pelosi tells him to.
Trying to fool the voters of the district info thinking hes conservative.
Yes. The winters never end up here. We could be looking at snow from Oct-April.
There are a couple of decent Dems on the ballot. But they cannot be elected to office. The Dems don’t tolerate dissent or votes of conscience. Once in power party politics, and even committee assignments and future party support are tied to the votes made in Congress. They will be forced to toe the party line.
If any of these few decent Dems win, my hope is that the GOP can flip them after the election.
Exactly. Everyone hates Congress but seem to love their congressperson. This election more than any other the choice is clear you cannot give the Dems a majority in the House. The politicians are beholden to the party, especially newcomers and especially in the House.
Nancy boy.
"...so our goal must be to resume the war to eliminate the working class, first by overwhelming their votes with illegal aliens."

100 years at Maine had 4 house seats so the districts were a bit smaller. Republican Wallace White did hail from Lewiston where Jared resides. We now have two districts.
Republican Rep. Bruce Poliquin has been on Howie Carr’s radio show in the past couple of weeks talking about his opponent Jared Golden.
Don’t be fooled by any criticism he might have for his own party. He is a dye-in-the-wool hard leftist. He has kept hidden his true beliefs. A little research into his past will expose him as a complete fraud.
Because he’s Jewish!
Plus if you take a good look at him you get the impression that he hits for the other team.
Just trying to lure a few Independents and wobbly Repubs to vote for him...
Same for TN gov race. US Senate to replace Corker is as Nasty as they get. Marsha Blackburn was former State Senator, moved up to US Rep. Now running for Corker’s seat. Breseden is a Schumer puppet.
