Nevada sales tax is avg 6.85%. Medical items are exempt, except feminine hygiene products needed monthly (tampons and pads) by 49.5% of population in Nevada. This would make the items tax exempt saving women money every month.

Yes, indeedy, because that is the Nevada way!
We have some dreadful initiatives on the ballot, that and exempting some medical devices from taxes. Otherwise, vote no on everything!
As for Prop 1, I call it the “Christine Blaisey Ford” protection act! In the name of “victims rights” it essentially does away with the presumption of innocence and the right to confront the accuser. Please vote No on that cursed thing!
So that’s less than $1.30 in tax per month in savings per female. Assuming an average of $20 worth of products which is more than what my wife asks me to get for her.
49.5% - I question that number. Firstly, pre-pubescent females dont need them yet. Secondly, post-menopausal females dont need them any longer. Thirdly, trans-gendered persons dont need them either. Therefore, 49.5% is way too high.
...Always vote to lower or eliminate taxes...
Always vote NO on any change to the state constitution.
This isn’t a bloody big deal, as the Brits might say.
It’s the principle of the thing. They are necessary. But so are many OTC medications. Who to tax?
The thug
Sisolak has already said that if he is elected governor he’s raising property taxes and disarming Nevadans. This pig must be stopped. Laxalt must win.
How much do women spend each month on tampons and pads? How much money would they save if they didn’t pay the 6.85% tax? $2 per month?
+. Yup, voted “No” on everyone this cycle with the exception of 1. The Leg should of fixed that several cycles ago.
But they have been being taxed their entire lives for these things. MAybe some sort of reparations should be in order here.
Men’s razors and shaving cream should be tax exempt, too.
No income tax and relatively low property tax, but a hefty sales tax.
The reasonableness of this proposal depends on what else is tax exempt. This isn’t strictly a woman’s issue. How many men are paying for their wife’s or their daughters’ feminine care items and would benefit from the tax savings?
And btw...Im voting against this...today...so is my wife, lol, it will go down to ignominious defeat.
That's insane.
49.5% of the population of Nevada are women of child bearing age? snort...
“Nevada sales tax is avg 6.85%. Medical items are exempt, except feminine hygiene products needed monthly (tampons and pads”.
Even if the tampons are to be used as earrings?
Your 49.5% number is totally wrong.
You are not leaving out those of us too old to need such products or those in the state TOO young to need them.
This state has a high number of retired people-— I don’t know a single retired woman here who needs any of these products any more. Perhaps Depends or bladder leak products-—but NOT tampons.
If this passes, the women libbers will want free tampons, pads and special panties for those special days.
