School Police Show Up At Door Of Transgender Policy Critic
The Revolutionary Act ^ | 11/2/18

Posted on 11/02/2018 7:40:56 AM PDT by Liberty7732

A parent who sent an email critical of the Florida school superintendent who implemented a radical transgender policy that strips away parent rights, found officers from the school district’s brand new police force at his door the next day.

This is a fairly shocking level of intimidation, and certainly at least some parents must have got the message: Shut up, sit down and let us handle your children. Or else we may come knocking.

We wrote about this radical policy last week, but confess we did not see this tactic coming. The essentials are this:

At the recommendation of the Sarasota County School District’s LGBTQI Task Force, School Superintendent Todd Bowden issued “guidelines” to govern how the district’s more than 50 public schools handle transgender and gender questioning students — starting as young as kindergarten. This stealthy radicalization of local policy comes just as the Trump administration considers rolling back the Obama administration’s un-scientific and lawless expansion of Title IX.

The Sarasota County school guidelines implement a full-blown transgender protocol allowing students to use whichever bathroom and locker room corresponds with the gender with which they “identify;” and forces everyone else to use the pronoun of the students’ choice. But maybe the biggest affront is that the guidelines also say that parents can not be informed of their child’s decision to identify as a different gender, because some trans activists claim the schools are a “safer” environment than the home.

It was keeping it secret from the parents, along with the general egregiousness of the rest of the policy, that attracted a lot of controversy. A 31-year-old Sarasota father of a young child not yet in the school system, sent the superintendent a brief email criticizing the guidelines.

“If Sarasota County schools will not keep my daughter safe from mentally ill male students who want to use the same bathroom as my daughter then I will. Listen very clearly, if/when something happens to little girls at school by transgender males exposing themselves in bathrooms/locker rooms or worse, you will be held liable. See you around.”

The superintendent decided that being “held liable” or maybe “see you around” was a physical threat and went to the school police about it. Of course, the letter-writer is right. The superintendent is totally liable, or responsible, because he bypassed both the School Board and the public in making the decision. That level of authoritarian action would seem to expose him to legal liability, which is the obvious point the father was making.

The twist is that the school district is still in the process of building its brand new internal police force — one of very few in Florida — in the wake of the Parkland shootings last year and hasty Florida legislation passed under the pressure of emotional activism. That means this particular superintendent, with his apparent tendencies, now has a quasi-personal police force. No one wants to think he would possibly use it in such a way, but it is not out of line with his heavy-handed tactics.

So while the letter-writing father was at work, his wife called him to say that two school district police officers showed up at their house. It’s not clear, but apparently the officers do not even have any jurisdiction off school property. They said they were there about the email.

That’s a scary situation for anyone, and certainly a parent. To their professional credit, once the father showed them the email, they realized there was nothing to it and apologized for being there. However, it turns out that school police were also at the letter writer’s father’s house, questioning him and his neighbors.

Of course nothing came of it because there was nothing there in the first place — nothing to it except to display a classic intimidation move from a Superintendent that has a bit of a reputation for playing hardball and intimidating others — including school board members who he supposedly answers to.

It’s safe to say that the message has been received by other parents who are uncomfortable with boys being allowed in the bathroom and locker room with their daughters at school, and are very uncomfortable with their Johnny being Sue at school and the school keeping that information from them and accommodating Johnny as Sue.

The message? Keep your mouth shut.

I’d be hammering my school board member to fire this superintendent.

1960s radical Jerry Ruben boasted, “We are stealing the youth of America right out of the kindergartens and elementary schools.” In 1958 “beatnik” Allen Ginsberg told Norman Podhoretz, “We’ll get you through your children!” Fire the superintendent? Check his contract first. He will be paid a substantial amount to leave. It is part of their training. Insurance for incompetence. He will be replaced by someone equally or more incompetent.

Our state and local governments have handed this kind of power and authority over to HOA’s. Of course, let the Schools in on back door Social-Communism as well...

Take your children out of government schools. Yes, it is a great sacrifice financially, but how much more will you allow to be done to your kids?

This perfectly demonstrates what Pelosi and her rat minions would do with regained House control — silence all critics of proggie actions.

Public schools are now dens of leftists, pushing an agenda of anti-God, anti-America, pro-abortion, pro-homo indoctrination.

We regain America by first regaining our public schools.

“officers from the school district’s brand new police force”

Apparently they are not to protect the school against shooters invading a gun free zone but to protect the PC culture of the school.

“Guidelines” to be followed or the gestapo harasses you.
Public schools implement the marxist agenda fully. Step 1, is remove all parental influence over the minds of the kids. Step 2, remove parental rights, while making the parents keep the financial responsibility
3, arrest parents who don’t agree

We elected Trump, but this crap is more important than tax cuts

Wasn’t there a State Superintendent of Schools, in MIchigan I think, who said ‘we know better for the children than their parents’? And Leftists really do think that. Any child brought up in a Conservative/Republican home needs to be educated/indoctrinated into the CORRECT way of thinking, parents be damned!

What if the father dialed 911 and said there were uniformed intruders on his property who were not city police or sheriff’s deputies?

“They say they’re the school district police. Please come at once!”

This action by the school may be a violation of the Constitution's Article IV, Section 4 which guarantees the states a republican form of government, and Section 1 of the 14th Amendment which prohibits state actors from abridging constitutionally enumerated protections, 1st Amendment protected free speech in this case.

H O W E V E R …

All roads of corruption in federal and state governments lead to Congress imo.

More specifically, we're still stuck with a worthless, corrupt Congress left over from the lawless Obama Administration that has a track record for blatantly ignoring its constitutionally enumerated duties to make and enforce punitive laws that discourage state actors from abridging constitutionally enumerated protections.

The remedy for federal and state governments that couldn't care less about the constitutional rights of citizens …

Patriots in all states need to come to the rescue of the Florida parent and other citizens whose constitutional rights are being ignoring by misguided, activist state actors and do the following.

Patriots must finish the job that they started when they elected Trump president.

More specifically, now is the time for patriots to use their voting muscle to fire corrupt Democratic and RINO career lawmakers. Patriots need to elect new patriot lawmakers who will not only be willing to make and enforce punitive laws to discourage state actors from ignoring constitutionally enumerated protections, but will also support Pres. Trump's vision for MAGA.

This is right in my backyard. The school board recently had its election, and as soon as the liberals knew they had a majority on the 5-person board, they pushed this crap through in the dead of night behind closed doors.

Predictably, the local leftmedia outlets all picked the ball up and ran with it as a fait accompli. And the fact that this same gang voted itself to have its own police force, well, I'm putting 2 and 2 together and getting a 4.

So now, unsurprisingly, we see the iron fist in the velvet glove. That fact that the superintendent, your typical self-serving unelected bureaucrat, pulls this crap to threaten and silence dissenters, well... we've seen that playbook everywhere that liberals hold power. And now that too many northerners have moved here and brought their collectivist politics with them, this poison is now here.

This article neglects to mention that the superintendent's Gestapo not only showed up at his house but also the home of his parents' neighbor. The fact they also went to the home of a neighbor to his parents is being ignored by all so no answer is being given as to why. My guess is that they did so at Bowden's behest to further publicize and embarrass Mr. Peters.

Here's what Mr. Peters wrote in response to this story:

The other thing I wanted to add is the fact that I do not view this as a political issue. Put your political views aside for the children. Allowing a young person who does not have the ability to vote, drink, or serve our country, but who may still believe in Santa Claus and have imaginary friends, to decide whether or not they are going to be a girl or boy at school without parental consent is ludicrous and may do more harm to the child than good. If a person has matured into a young adult and still feels he or she does not want to live life as the sex they were born then they may have the psychiatric disorder known by the American Psychiatric Association as gender dysphoria and should be supported by those around him or her as anyone with a psychiatric disorder should be.

One of my major concerns with the guidelines is the policy stating that if a student makes the decision to identify as a different gender than he or she was born and use the bathroom of his/or her choice, the student has the ability to decide whether or not the school will tell the parents about the situation. Schools keeping information hidden from parents about their own children is a very dangerous precedence to set and sends the message to those students that it is okay to keep things hidden from your parents.

Everything he says is right. He deserves more support than he's receiving. Please feel free to add your comments to the bottom of the article found here:

Sarasota transgender guidelines continue to stir conversation

The purpose of that was to send a message to the peasants [parents], Joe. The message is: If you don’t want your ass in the greybar hotel, keep your $%&#$&*( mouth shut. Should one of your children be killed or seriously injured because of one of our decisions, too !23456&* bad. We don’t give a good *U() damn. Boy am I grateful that I do not have a school aged child today!

It's the on-line Herald Tribune. They allow so many articles a month for free and then they enforce the paywall. I simply clear my cookies and begin again. Sometimes they present you with a survey, but I decline to answer it and it directs me to the page I originally wanted.

Peters also indicates in his posts that he and Bowden know each other....or at least have met on several occasions. But he still sent his guard.
