Companies spanning tech, financial services and consumer products are standing up for legal protections for transgender people.
The companies represent over $2.4 trillion in annual revenue and have almost 4.8 million employees.
The signed statement comes after a New York Times report that the Trump administration is considering limiting the definition of gender to birth anatomy....

Proof positive he is doing the right thing.
Gender IDs:
Male
Female
Sexually FUBAR
Amen to that.
I happen to agree with him. But I also think this isn’t something he should even be weighing in on. What’s the win?
As I’ve said before.
8 yrs of obozo and people do not know which bathroom to use.
I have to disagree. Fighting back against brain-dead leftism is never a losing proposition, IMO.
This poison of allowing people to claim any sex or race they choose based on their desire and nothing else has far reaching ramifications, not the least of which is fostering, endorsing, and facilitating mental illness in these people who need help.
Never mind the costs associated with this. And there are costs.
The win is to shake the demented leftists from their insane belief that one’s sex is a matter of choice.
I don’t disagree with your premise. But my wife had a saying when dealing with our kids whenever an “issue” came up.
“Choose your battles”
There are some things to dig your heels in on and some things not. What percentage of the population are we talking about here? (if we could even know?)
It’s got to be less than 1/4 of 1%. That’s just a gut guess. In other words, who gives a $hit. Let them be warped. They ain’t bothering me.
RICO anyone?
/S
Equal Rights, not Special Rights.
Why not just add a line to the standard forms: (a) biological sex/gender; and (b) preferred gender identity. Problem solved.
In the corporate world, it is difficult to think of any role that is formally gendered anyhow. (Informal conventions are a different matter.) Corporations invariably have a stated goal of treating all people with dignity and respect. Corporations invariably pledge to respect the confidentiality of people's personal information. So the question arises: just where exactly, in today's corporate world, might a conflict arise in this area? I suppose one would have to make firm decisions about insurance premiums and annuity payouts based on actuarial tables. What else? I suppose there might be quarrels over assigning gender fluid people to one side or the other in assessing compliance with gender hiring/promotion targets, but as a practical matter, the number of trans people is so small that this is a fairly incidental concern. Is the fuss over getting health insurance policies to cover "sex change" surgeries? What else?
There is an awfully lot of straining in the attached corporate statement to make an issue out of something that seems almost invisibly trivial in terms of real world implications.
Trannies in women's athletics is a real issue. Mixing the sexes in intimate quarters -- locker rooms, showers, dormitory housing, etc. -- is a real issue. But these aren't really relevant to the corporate world.
It’s called LEADERSHIP
And their standing? Who cares? Born female, always female; Born male, always male. They might mutilate their bodies, choose to dress as the opposite sex, but end of day, they were born male or female.
So much for the Democrats claim to be the party of science.
My wife delivers babies for a living and when a baby is born, the first thing EVERYONE does, regardless of political leanings, is check the baby’s junk to see whether it’s boy or a girl. Doctors, nurses, parents, EVERYONE.
Then when the extended family and friends get told, it’s the first question everyone asks; boy or girl?
Out of 4000 babies my wife has delivered, there was ever a speck of doubt as to the sex either - the anatomy is completely different - any moron can figure it out at a single glance. A two year old can distinguish a boy from a girl.
So why does it become such a confusing subject for liberals?
What are “Trump gender changes”?
The proposed policy = “water is wet”.
I’d be against a Trump gender change too!
Thank God the Ford Motor Company and my favorite hotel chain aren’t on that list. I don’t give a damn about the rest of those companies.
Well, duh, Apple, Amazon, Facebook et. al. want to keep making money off all the millions of mentally ill. They certainly dont want to merely market to logical, sane people...that would severely limit their market share and growth potential.
It’s ESSENTIAL for him to weigh in on this. It’s all about the standards for U.S. Justice Dept. civil rights enforcement.
