Full title : Mary Matalin to Newsmax TV: GOP Will Hold House, Add Senate Seats
Republican political consultant Mary Matalin told Newsmax TV on Thursday that she believes the GOP will not only win seats in the Senate, but also hold on to the House majority.
In remarks on “Newsmax Now,” Matalin — who’s served under President Ronald Reagan, was campaign director for George H. W. Bush, and was an assistant to President George W. Bush — said Democrats “forget even recent history” We’re going to win in all the same places” Republicans were victorious in 2016, she asserted.
“I've been looking at my notes from last spring when the wave was starting to be the narrative,” she added. “We're never going to lose the House. And I'm looking to pick up five to seven Senate seats.”

I agree with Mary. I don’t see us losing 23 House seats. 10-15 maybe. I think a 3-4 seat GOP pick up in the Senate. Then Trump will be free to do what he wants.

Wow. She really did get it right. I wonder if, having been married to Carville for so many years she deduced some fundamental flaws with the Clinton political machine. I’m sure some of their conversations were quite interesting.

Not certain what you mean by MN house seats being a mess - but the GOP will flip US House seats 1 & 8 from Dem to GOP. House seats held by Eric Paulsen and Jason Lewis are iffy - could go wither way. If Paulsen and Lewis lose, the they flip from GOP to Dem.
I see the worst case scenario is that the seats remain as is now, i.e. 5 Dem and 3 GOP. But the best case is 5 GOP and 3 Dem.

Matalin also thinks John James will win in Michigan...

“He’s just what this cycle needs I think he’s going to win,” she said.

Oddly, Michael Moore, who predicted Trumping becoming president, also predicting keeping the House and Senate.
Now, if Michael Moore was only worthy of trust ...
