What Trump claims to want is already in the 14th amendment!
All he has to do is order his staff to obey it.
Somebody stared Trump down! He folded his cards without looking.
That might be true in Fantasy Land, but certainly not in the United States. Trump has known all along that he has to convince the Congress to change the law. He is at least three moves ahead of you. This will need to be done in the Lame Duck session and he needs to bring a baseball bat to the discussions with the Congress in order to get it done. There is nothing wrong with the 14th Amendment. The problem is that the State Department and then the Congress codified a procedure that is in contravention of the 14th Amendment. Amend U.S. Code 8, Section 1401 and the problem goes away. If the Congress refuses, then Trump cobbles the Executive with an Executive Order and fights it out in Court. That will take longer.
Let’s hope you’re wrong because an EO is definitely a stroke of genius. I have a suspicion he’s going to drop the EO anyway on the eve of the election.
What Mr. Trump showed was that he will be dealt a full house when the mid-term elections are over. He got MSM, speaker Ryan and a bunch of never-trumpers to show their cards.
He did not fold. And they know he does not bluff.
I think the supremes may have signaled their displeasure and thus the reason he folded.

Again. Thats why we have waves of caravans, Syrian rapefugees, no border funding, no repeal of obamacare.. but we do have trillions of taxpayer dollars in continuing resolutions for Chuck n Nancy and the next eave stats every Christmas.
