FedEx cuts ties with NRA

FedEx has cut ties with the National Rifle Association, eight months after it first received calls to do so.

The shipping company confirmed to Reuters on Tuesday that it is ending its partnership, which offered discounts to members of the gun-rights lobby group.

The move comes days after 11 people were killed in a shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue. FedEx, however, told Reuters that its decision to end the discount program was unrelated to the shooting, citing business reasons for the move.

FedEx was one of several companies that faced pressure earlier this year to end partnerships with the NRA, following February's mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.

Several companies, including airlines, car rental companies and banks, ended their discount programs for NRA members, but FedEx said it would not “deny service or discriminate against any legal entity regardless of their policy positions or political views.”

At least you got it

The post office would have “lost it” and some gang banger would have ended up with it and shot someone with it... all being traced back to you

UPS at least isn’t getting involved in it. Really bothered by FedEx making a “statement” of ending its NRA partnership right after this. Same as Yeti which claimed to still support it but still killed their discount.

Actually any seller on ebay can use it if you buy the label through Ebay.

Well, who didn’t see that coming? I’ll ask my FedEx Man what his opinion is, if he’s ALLOWED to have one.

(Some weeks he’s the only human being I see. I live VERY Rural and everyone hunts.)

Probably, I don’t, its not worth it. I get better rates from FedEx so I use my own account, not eBay’s

I have a feeling over 99% of the members never heard of the discount.

I knew about it but never really explored it - figured that no good would ever come of having an "NRA" flag on my FedEx account.

and it sucks 100%

I get better rates from FedEx then I do from USPS, and I don’t have to put up with pissed off, why are you bothering me from solitaire, government drone attitude.

If I could tell you my 2nd FedEx rate anywhere in the US including Alaska and Hawaii, you would flip, its less then priority mail and unlike priority mail (which can take 2 to 24 days), it is guaranteed.

The USPS is the largest employer of veterans in the nation. A lot of fine, patriotic people work at the post office.

For example, I didn't even think about the discount or know how to take advantage of it. Oh, well, let's be outraged and panic! Mass hysteria is what we need! Let's keep it going by only reading the headlines or the first paragraph!

UPS is okay, too, and pretty dependable. UPS is the only carrier that does the powder and primer deliveries from vendors who sell reloading supplies.

If this board lives in the hellhole of Memphis, I understand the left turn of the company as Memphis is a Democrat stronghold whose crime rate is escalating and the city is deteriorating.
