The New York Daily News reported:
A 911 caller reported a suspicious package Monday evening at the Midtown headquarters of The New York Times, police said.
Cops responded to the newspaper’s Eighth Ave. headquarters between W. 40th and 41st Sts. at about 8 p.m. No further information is available.

The package was opened and the contents were indeed suspicious.
It was a book entitled: “Fair And Objective Journalism For Beginners”.
The dangerous book was immediately destroyed and order was restored.
