This reminds me of American commercial pilot community. It’s is the whitest professionals as far as I see. I wonder why they never advocate diversity or affirmative action over this group

Put that airline out of business and jail every single person in management for life.

Don’t know either but I think it is a listing of people on board. 2 Pilot,
5 Flight Attendants, 178 passengers and the other two I don’t know or
even have a guess.

I keep looking at the brief pic of the wreckage in the video. Planes that land in water don’t usually have their exoskeleton ripped off. Bomb?

"Put that airline out of business and jail every single person in management for life."

Huh? What if it is a design flaw? An engine problem? Neither would be the fault of the airline. Wait for the cause to be determined before pinning blame.

Pilot error, maybe dope-related. No other details online that I saw.

“Twenty employees from Indonesia’s finance ministry were also on board, the BBC has learned.”

I’d certainly be checking into this angle...

Having visited that part of the world I can attest to the fact that the weather can get very, very nasty there. Some of the worst thunderstorms I’ve ever seen have been in Indonesia,Malaysia and Singapore.

The fuselage skin does get ripped off if the plane hits the water at speed - fuselage breaches, water enters at speed, the fluid hammer effect manifests and panels come off. It doesn’t if the plane is actually trying to ditch and has slowed as much as possible.

Lion Air does have a recent poor record for safety, though. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lion_Air#Incidents_and_accidents

The most advanced Boeing 737 ever built falls out of the sky?

Can’t wait to hear what the Investigators find out.

The “skin” around a fuselage would remain intact with a controlled landing. Uncontrolled, it would be shredded. Empennage, and wings totally destroyed. The human body is more hardy than a breached aircraft.

The Plane had a loss of control minutes into the flight. The previous had the pilot complaining about unreliable airspeed and altitude and he let the co-pilot fly it.

The Capt on the crashed flight seemed to have control problems and may have damaged the plane with his reactions to the planes actions.

The plane dropped 500 ft right after takeoff, at only 2000 feet and it looks like the pilot commanded that.

New airplane, control problems and a pilot who reacted wrong and flew it into the ground. No need for bombs or gay, suicidal pilots.

You hit the nail on the head. This is not the first time that Indinesian finance ministers have been killed in a plane crash in the past two years.
