Brazilians elected Jair Bolsonaro of the right-wing Social Liberal Party (PSL) their new president Sunday, granting him a double-digit lead over socialist opponent Fernando Haddad. Bolsonaro won the first round of voting in early October, but not by more than the 50 percent needed to prevent a second round runoff against the runner-up. While his lead diminished somewhat in the past week, official vote tallies counting 98.5 percent of precincts confirm Bolsonaro winning with over 55 percent of the vote.

Is not a right wing party.....it is a Leftist party....hence the Social Liberal party.
Most of the world has retained the Latin root meaning freedom for liberal. The language in the US has been corrupted so that liberal means anti-freedom socialist.
The left is having a conniption over this. They are predicting the return of fascism.
Good news indeed. Bolsonaro seems like one of the few Latin American politicians worthy of anyone’s support or respect. The vast majority of the rest are either Marxists, kleptocratic crooks, or both.

The Social Liberal party started out 25 years ago as a social liberal party but Bolsanaro took over and the liberals left to form a new party Livres which means free or liberty and the social liberals left with them

When I was there the junta had just disbanded and things were bad but nothing like now
The corruption and crime have to be addressed

If he can grab more power and a firmer grip he will and if he can get stuff done they’ll want it at least for a while
His enemies are right to be worried
