The Campbell Soup lobbyist who said George Soros' foundation was assisting a caravan of migrants bound for the United States is no longer with the company.
Kelly Johnston, formerly Campbell's vice president of government affairs, tweeted on Monday that the Open Society Foundations arranged for "troop carriers" and "rail cars" to support the caravan, which formed earlier this month in Central America. Johnston has since deleted his Twitter account.
Campbell and Johnston had discussed his leaving over the summer, the company said on Saturday. Johnston was scheduled to leave in November, but the tweet sped up his exit.
"In the last few days, the company and Mr. Johnston have agreed that under the current circumstances it would be best to accelerate the timing of his departure," a company spokesperson told CNN Business. Thursday was his last day.

Ah, yes. Thanks for the reminder.
I thought the point of a condensed soup was that it is simple to make. Now they are saying it takes two people?
That’s correct. They make sure they and their buddies are well-taken-care-of.
lol
Exactly!
Well, we need new icons. It’s easy enough to complain about the old, less easy to actually put forth an alternative.
Chick-Fil-A soups, or if Chick-Fil-A doesn’t want to do it, create a clearly Christian brand like (say) David’s Harp and source it from a good quality generic supplier.
No tacos?
I’m on a SOUP Kick, now. I can post a Taco Recipe if you need one, LOL!
And within companies, they often rise to the top because they have no external moral code nor any consistent principles. They live only for this life, and will do or say anything to get what they want. I see it all the time. The ambitious ones become hyper-ambitious, are totally self-centered, and think themselves superior to everyone else.
Once in charge, they immediately make political correctness the defacto moral code of the company or organization. From there, they reward and promote those who drink the Koolaid and harass and fire those who dont. Its everywhere now, and those who know better are intimidated into remaining silent.
Republicans need legislative protection. They are in danger of being impoverished into submission. Big commercial companies should not be allowed to fire employees for their lawful political speech.
Has Campbell Soup decided to add soup to their cans of salt?
He probably left with a year’s salary and bonus as severance (fairly typical at VP level for companies of that size).
I make my own by the kettle and freeze it. Cheaper, LOTS of vegies and not so much salt.
These once great companies were started and built by free market capitalists only to be later “managed” by bureaucrats funneled to them thru the social re education camps which were once our great universities. Not hard to figure out how they became infested with politically correct ideology
A college degree became a requirement for decent employment after WW2. It is now a risk factor for any company built on free market principles and individual initiative. The swamp runs deep and wide
That is around the time I started making homemade soup and never looked back at Campbell’s. Some of their soups taste metallic, anyway.
I eat fewer than a half dozen cans of soup a year, usually tomato soup in my goulash recipe (weird recipe, great comfort food).
I’m willing to try Kroger brand which is actually made by ihavenoidea. Or Walmart, whatever they’re calling their store brand nowadays.
The way companies buckle to pressure from the left is appalling. However, by now, they should all be smart enough to completely lay off expressing their political opinions if they don’t want unwanted attention.
Say anything bad about Commie Soros, you get fired..say anything bad about the Koch brothers, hey that’s all good
I recall a time when every idiot who worked for someone else knew it was probably not the best idea to stand up in the town square, naked, an scream at the moon.
Evidently SOME people still remember that. Just not the guy with the busy tweeting fingers.
Thus validating the “conspiracy theories” about Soros. SMH
Focused on SJW causes and twitter.
