It was a two-minute satirical stab at the social exiling that many Americans face when they announce their conservatism to friends and family.
Soon thereafter I would discover that for black Americans, the punishment that awaits is far worse than any social exile: it is a full-court social lynching.
Search the name of any prominent black conservative and peruse the words written by liberal journalists:
Dr. Ben Carson is a porch monkey
Larry Elder is but an Uncle Tom
Kanye West is in the sunken place
Clarence Thomas is a womanizer
I have been branded a self-hating black, Nazi-sympathizer and rather astonishingly a white supremacist.
The underlying sentiments are clear; black people are meant to think and act within the confines of what white liberals deem acceptable.
But while in the past the threat of slander has worked to lag the spreading of black conservatism, over this last year, I have observed something of the opposite effect.
In fact, what many have misdiagnosed as political tension between two ideologically disparate groups is actually something far greater, far more deep-rooted, and much more likely to alter the trajectory of this country as we know it.
Across America, black people are beginning to question political orthodoxy. We have been quietly building an ecosystem of free thinkers and at long last, the intellectual dam is breaking.
This unique moment will come to be known as BLEXIT: the black exit from the Democrat party.

All that is asked of any American is to take a moment to think for oneself. If a person wants to be a Democrat, or a Republican, so be it...but whole groups or identifies of people should not be enslaved to any politcal party.
What has become policy differences between well meaning people has turned into a complete Shi$$Show...I don’t know what else to call it. Jeez, Someone wants free healthcare for all...okay. I get that...It would be nice. How will it be paid for? NAZI! That is not a policy debate
I smoked some good stuff listening to the original version of your tag line way back when.
I lived next door to Betty Jo Bialoski, just down from the old Same place.
Oh, you mean Nancy.
I LOVE Candice Owens...!
Plus, she’s pretty hot.
Blexit!
"Black Exit" from dem party. Candace Owens.
Check the website. I'm going to hit the store for the "X" hat designed by Kanye.
I’ve got personal experience with much of what Candace says in her article.
Since the late nineties, I’ve been the lone conservative in my large black family. I’ve been called all of the boilerplate names, and have been accused of voting against my own interests, letting my people down, being suckered by the eeevil Republicans, etcetera, ad nauseum.
Most of it rolled off my back, because I was always two steps outside the crowd, and always went my own way. The family didn’t like it when I officially announced my switch to the Republican party, but they understood that it was just me being my usual iconoclast self.
In recent years, my son and a nephew have also escaped the Democrat mind control plantation. That is very satisfying to me, and gives me hope that the exodus will continue.
She is smoking hot bro, no lie.
Today I was outside early voting, handing out Republican voter guides. I made sure to approach every black person or family who came along. Yes, I’m a middle aged white guy. In a Republican T-shirt.
I was not met with anger, name calling, etc. I got nothing worse than indifference, which was better than some of the frothing white lefties I approached.
What I did get, was honest appeciation from over 50% of black folks. Heartfelt thanks. Including from one guy who was muscled up, dreads, tatts, wifebeater, looked like a hardass prison thug. But had w little kids with him. He could have knocked my head clean around. He smiled, said, “Thanks, man.”
Me approaching them was clearly unexpected. And when they saw no guile or bad motives in me, a little dam broke. Each time. Memorable for both. People like Candy and Herman and Trump set the table. The black community is sick of being used.
All we have to do is reach out, be gracious, and treat everyone the same no matter how they look. Respect gets respect returned with black folks.
(Now the 2 obvious lesbian couples spat tacks at me lol. And hated it when I laughed. Soyboys scooted past me like I had the plague. Fat white women tried to argue, etc)
But I AM getting one of those Blexit hats. That will look great on me and it will get to the leftists.
Candace Owens - free at last!
Very nice 'deplorable' work, there! Great that you got some thanks!
Very nice work :-)
Thank you.
Good for you!
Republicans really helped blacks to gain freedom in the past. We can help them REgain it now.
More and more black are realizing that Democrats care WAYYYY more about illegals than blacks.
Stand up. We’ll stand with you!
Agreed.
