Thousands of Central American caravan riders on Friday refused Mexico's offer of providing asylum status to those immigrants who applied and qualified. They vowed to continue their trek north to the United States around dawn on Saturday, NBC News reported.
Under the plan, dubbed Estas en Tu Casa plan (translated to "This is Your Home"), asylum seekers would be given identifying documentation, jobs for adults and school for kids. The only catch was that they would have to stay in Mexico's two southernmost states of Chiapas and Oaxaca.
The caravan riders to decided to turn down Mexico's offer, saying they've trekked too far to stop before reaching the United States.
"Thank you! No, we're heading north!" they shouted as they trekked on, the Associated Press reported.
Our goal is not to remain in Mexico," Honduran Oscar Sosa, 58, said. "Our goal is to make it to the (U.S). We want passage, that's all."
Although Mexico is allowing the caravan to pass through, the government has not provided them with food, water, shelter or bathrooms. Those luxuries are saved for those who decide to turn themselves in.
"Authorities were also cracking down on smaller groups trying to catch up with the main caravan, detaining about 300 Hondurans and Guatemalans as they walked along a highway after crossing the Mexico border illegally, said an official with the national immigration authority," NBC News reported.
The caravan still has a ways to travel before reaching the United States-Mexico border. If they decide to try and enter through McAllen, Texas, they will have a 1,000 mile journey remaining. If they choose San Diego as their point of entry they're looking at another 2,000 miles.

IIRC, Sessionzzz recently amended the administrative apparatus surrounding asylum-seeking to stipulate that an asylum seeker only qualifies if they have not had the opportunity to obtain asylum in another country they have been in. If they pass through and don’t seek/take offers of aid or asylum, then they aren’t eligible here in the USA, right off the bat.
Anyone in this army is now automatically ineligible for asylum in the USA.

Set to hit all along the US border in time for the election. Different groups are scattered along the route. Depending on where they’re told to mount their advance, they’ll arrive en mass.

Mexico wouldn’t offer anything if Trump didn’t put them up to it. Now Mexico must deal with it.

I don’t like the word “Caravan” to describe these invaders. Caravan seems so...soft and non-threatening.

The 85% who are young men want to go to the US to get in on the gang action and raping American girls. They have no intention of staying in Mexico, where the laws and punishments are much tougher than in our passive, permissive country.
Ask the Angel Mothers how this will turn out. Hundreds of Americans will die because thousands of these rejects are allowed to stay in our country by soft-headed judges, many of them Democrat women.
By refusing they have identified they are an invasion force as we all thought in the first place, but now they’ve confirmed it, therefore we don’t have to be nice when we slam the door in their’s, Human Rights Watch, and the U.N.’s faces. They blew it themselves. KMA suckers.
Or maybe just put a line of suited bureaucrats at desks in front of them, with a stack of papers for them to fill out and a number to take that starts with 1,000.

Nah. Military solution is better. Great deterrent model for future invaders, too.
