New polling nightmare: Trump supporters 'won't say it out loud (from 2017)

... At Rasmussen Reports, which was the most accurate 2016 pollster, questions on Trump often see a spike in those who check "don't know."

Francis Coombs, Rasmussen managing editor, said, "In most surveys, you generally get 4 or 5 percent who say they are undecided, but if you ask about a controversial issue, particularly one involving Trump, that figure often jumps to the high teens — 17 percent or 18 percent. That tells me that a lot of those people agree with the president but just aren't going to say it out loud."

I’m not afraid of how a Demcratic will respond, I just want a better reason for self-defense than a triggered lefty’s lack of emotional control.

Beside, the only thing uglier than a liberal, is liberal with no teeth.

New York Times polls this year suggest a response rate of 1% to 5%. I cannot determine the political bias of the few respondents.

Had a phone poll ask me to give my home address as part of the demographic information. I told them to pound sand - the best they’d ever get from me would be a zip code and that is more then enough information for demographic purposes.

I really think they are trying to figure out where everyone lives that supports our President. Course I could just be paranoid.

“For whatever reason, the man is universally hated.”

I wouldn’t say he’s universally hated. If he were his approval rating would be at 0, and he wouldn’t be President. The MSM never misses a chance to say everybody hates him, but it’s fake news.

I think the men that hate him are jealous of his charisma and many successes. The women probably because he isn’t on board with murdering children.

“Here in Upstate (people’s republic of) NY, I would consider it an invitation to vandalism to put Trump or Republican anything on our property or vehicle.”

My mom lives in western NY, is 94, and proudly had her NObama bumper sticker on her car until she quit driving last year. We worried that she’d be hassled, but she wasn’t. Her area is pretty conservative — Allegany County.

I drove my Jeep around with a blue
ribbon to show support for or local
LEOs. I came out of Walmart and my
antenna was bent at 90 degrees with
ribbon gone. I walked around it
checking to see if the paint was keyed.
It wasn’t. I’ve removed my NRA, ARMY,
American flag, and Gadsden flag decals.

Same with exit polls.

Pollsters are stuck in their old business models. Old methods. They no longer apply. They’d be better off selling aluminum siding.

No pollster even calls me anymore; I no longer have a land line.

The last time I got a call was when Clinton was running for his second term. I just said ‘I don’t respond to polls’.

Felt sorry for the nice young man on the ‘phone; but I just don’t do polls.

If you were only left handed you’d be the lefties Darth Vader.

Or a Nazi, they think we are all Nazis.

I too never answer the phone if I don’t recognize the number. If it is important they can leave a message and I’ll get back to them.

I got a poll phone call last night. I just hung up. What idiot in their right mind would give answers like that to a complete stranger?

I believe it’s the same dynamic for support of LGBTQ ‘rights’ and homo ‘marriage’. A great majority do NOT support it.

Same here, don’t recognize the number don’t answer. If they leave no message then the number is added to my block list. I’m sure that practice of non-answering unknown calls must be wide spread giving the increase in telemarketers and scammers. So how accurate can telephone polls be?

It’s a sign that nobody trusts you. If they did, and they thought their answer wasn’t going to be used against them, they’d answer truthfully.

That’s not going to sink in, however.

“the Left succeeded partially in an attempt to subjugate the country by making it an implicit if not explicit police state.”

How would leftist subjugate the country when 90% of the geographical territory of the US become no-go zones for leftists?
