“Gender” is a bogus term. A person has a sex, male or female. (With the caveat that there is a very rare condition where some people are born with some of the genitals of both sexes.)

There are also conditions where people are insensitive to sex hormones so they never sexually mature. However all these conditions have a clear genetic component and are based on hard physical evidence.

This is why a person can have a clear set of physical symptoms and any competent doctor will arrive at the same diagnosis. However go to 10 therapists with some mental symptoms and you will get a different dx every time.

Correct. “Gender” as it is used these days is a political concept and has nothing to do with sex or biology. Nor does it have anything “hardwired” about it. That is a false-hood perpetrated by unethical political operatives under cover of medical credentials.

Gender is, and has always been, a grammatical term. The terms “cis” and “trans” are organic chemistry terms. I love how the soft stupid “sciences” borrow from legitimate academic fields to firm up ridiculous propositions that were the punchline for jokes a few generations ago.

Does that not leave room for the possibility that one may be born with the "wrong" genitals?

My problem is that I have observed a young "male" who has displayed feminine traits from the age of 2-3, well before he got into the larger society. There is no evidence of abuse, his parents appear normal, loving and responsible and he has a typical, slightly older brother.

It is my considered, but lay, opinion that his circumstance is due solely to something that did, or did not happen in the womb. I think of it as a birth defect inasmuch as it is not an outcome nature would intend.

Such line of reasoning leads to the next question. "On what basis should he not be entitled to a place in our society free of ridicule or scorn?"

Gender is a term applying to grammar, I think. The Left is trying to destroy our language to hurt our perception of reality so we can’t realize the failure of their policies or perceive how evil they are.

I remember gender from French class, where nouns would have a gender. Lots of times, that would mean adding an e to a noun.
