Republicans and Democrats dont just disagree on the issues, though of course they do. Americans are divided on which issues are important in the first place.
That was the unmistakable finding of a new survey from the Pew Research Center. The research outfit polled 10,000 Americans, about a month before the 2018 midterms. The survey found that, when you break Americans out by political party, they often have totally different notions about what the biggest issues facing the country are.
This chart sums it up better than I ever could: on race, on climate change, on gun violence, on illegal immigration, Republicans and Democrats are irreconcilably divided over whether those issues are even important at all.

The blue numbers are Dems and the red numbers are reps
That chart shows that Democrats are really the only ones who care about anything.
PEEYOO survey.
The problem with America in just one chart ?
It appears this one chart places the problem with America solidly with people who aren’t liberals.
No thanks, VOX. I’ll try to make your company collapse though, ok ?
Seems high.
That one got me too. What kind of survey gets a hot topic like this completely backwards?
Sorry about that. I failed to notice the red dot and was just looking at the column headings. Thanks. Need another cup of tea.
See my comment #26. I got it wrong.
No, that’s not the biggest political problem in America.
Fake News sites like Vox are.
Well, ‘vox’ and ‘pyou’ research, so there is that.
Notice that most, if not all those issues (questions) are taken from the Left’s playbook. They are selected and phrased from a Leftist perspective.
They used to make some pretty good guitar amps......... Oh, different VOX. Never mind.
If this was an accurate reflection of voting patterns, Republicans would never win an election and Donald Trump would not be president. Notice how the problems are posited entirely on left-wing narratives and assumptions.
Public school. Liberal University and MSM educated ignorami.
VOX is always spewing DemonRat cow pucky.
What I see is a huge gap in how much the different groups stress over things that the media tells us are important.
Here is the problem.
Democrats believe EVERY issue is the biggest problem and EVERY issue must be solved to their satisfaction by enacting THEIR solutions.
Racism, Sexism, Guns, et. al.
Republicans, on the other hand, are rational beings who understand there is no one solution that would solve any one problem to everyones' satisfaction and since people act as individuals there is no way to make every person obey every law or rule every time.
So the reality is, bad stuff is going to happen now and then.
No law and no rule can be 100% effective 100% of the time.
At least on the majority of topics they chose to ask about. They probably haven't a clue what to even ask conservatives on topics of concern.
sPew research is part of the problem.
Misinformation (mostly fake)venders.
So basically our common ground is:
Ethics in Government
Affordable Health Care
Federal Budget Deficit
Drug Addiction
Everything else is meant to divide us.
LOL! Yup a lack of common ground was about the only thing I gathered from the chart. But, I kinda already knew that. ;-)
