He’s actually right. For 8 years Obama stood on the throat of the American economy. When he left his foot came off and it started to breath again. Trump has more than helped it along but I credit half of the growth just to Obama’s departure.

The data shows differently. GDP for Q4 of 2016 was 1.9%. GDP for Q1 of 2017 - which can fairly be attributed to Obama’s policies - was 1.4%. All Obama did was put his foot on the throat of the economy. The political credit for GDP growth is all Trump’s.
