There are many threads on the invasion force that is heading to our southern border.
In most of the threads some Freepers have offered military options, mostly tongue in cheek, and most not viable due to political fallout.
Assuming the US had agreement with the Mexican government and Mexican military, here's what the US military should do:
1. The plan starts with PSY OPS….Leaflet drops would be made on an hourly basis, from helicopters and C-130 aircraft. Many different leaflets would be dropped:
a. Some leaflets would paint a dire picture of the days ahead.
b. Some leaflets would describe the new asylum process which require asylum seekers to apply for asylum in Mexico…and that any asylum seeker that does not apply in Mexico would automatically be denied asylum in the US.
c. Some leaflets would offer free transportation back to their home.
d. Some leaflets would inform that all markets enroute have been provided security cameras. Anyone stealing food or committing any other crime will have their pictures sent to the US.
e. Some leaflets would inform that anyone committing a crime enroute will be denied asylum.
f. Some leaflets would inform that any migrant trying to enter for work will be immediately arrested and returned to their home country.
g. Some leaflets would inform that entry to the US will require identity documents, such as passport or birth certificate. Anyone without identity documents will be arrested and returned to the border between Mexico and Guatemala.
h. Leaflets will continue to drop during phase 2 and 3
i. Please feel free to add your recommendations for leaflets.
2. After a couple of days of leaflet drops, phase 2 will kick in with sleep deprivation.
a. F-22s will fly supersonic directly over the caravan. This can be done in a race track pattern so the caravan gets a sonic boom every 15 minutes for a 2 to 3 hour period.
b. Helicopters can then overfly the caravan with search lights and loud speakers.
c. Lather, rinse, repeat.
3. Phase 3 would involve making the invaders very uncomfortable physically. This phase would not occur until after the election. To accomplish this, the US forest service would provide water bombers to drop water over the caravan. I am confident the amount of water could be metered to prevent any injuries. The equivalent of a west Texas thunderstorm would do. This would be done several times at night between sonic booms. After a couple nights, the water could be mixed with harmless but foul smelling chemicals.
You are assuming that many of these invaders can read.

Mexico wants this “caravan” to enter the US. They’re not going to let us into their airspace.

When I was in Afghanistan we were tasked with a leaflet airdrop. A B-1 and an F-18 were tasked with making a high speed supersonic run to get people's attention. We were right behind them, dropping leaflets out the back of our C-130. I still have some of the leaflets somewhere.
The leaders of the invasion can read and are paid operatives
My plan is for Trump to call the president of Mexico and give him 12 hours to get the mob turned around or we start taking out strategic bridges to keep them out. This can be done with little to no loss of life. We can drop supplies behind the end of the caravan with incentive for them to go back home, We can even drop arms if they need them to use to overthrow their governments. The bridges removed should be those closest to the beginning of the caravan so there is minimal damage to the Mexican economy.
Bomb their bridges.

My further thoughts ring true...Mexico doesn't want this on their doorstep.
Tough Noogies. President Trump should warn Mexico that if these invaders are not stopped in Mexico, our military will, to the depth of 20 miles and use that space as a buffer zone. When the invaders turn back, we will go home.
Sure, the screeching about a "Gringo Invasion" will reach the heavens, but all we have to keep saying is "Stop them, or we will." What could be more reasonable? :-)
Just the optics of our troops standing
an arm’s length apart (with weapons),

Border patrol would be the second
line of defense to round up women
and children that are sure to be
the only ones they let through.
Trump should put out the word that
force will be used if necessary.
Flying over them in Mexican air space?
I prefer that we close the border down. Put troops on border to prevent crossings. Cancel all transportation between US and Mexico commercial and trade. Prohibit the wire services of funds to Mexico.
The Caravans will disappear.
A-10 Warthogs - 10 would do nicely - unloading on the column of invaders.

Set up camp pelosi and Schumer in the Mexico desert and process them back home. Arrest those who try to Enter the USA and march them back home.
They know what an American $20 and $50 look like. They can read good enough.

This is a heavily funded and organized effort. Seriously disrupt that organization. Hungry and thirty people will lose interest on marching. They will rape the land and nearby dwellings and cities scavenging, stealing and killing.
