The throng of Central American migrants advancing toward the U.S. border in southern Mexico has now swelled to a whopping 7,000 people as they defy the efforts of four governments to break them up.
Thousands of mostly Honduran migrants rose at dawn on Sunday from the shores of a river between Guatemala and Mexico and continued their trek northward, overwhelming Mexican government attempts to stop them at the border.
Their numbers swelled from 2,000 to about 5,000 overnight and at first light they set out walking toward the Mexican town of Tapachula, 10 abreast in a line stretching approximately a mile. That number has now reportedly risen to 7,000.
Several hundred more already had applied for refugee status in Mexico and an estimated 1,500 were still on the Guatemalan side of the Suchiate River, hoping to enter legally.
It came as President Donald Trump fired off a tweet on Sunday afternoon, saying: 'Full efforts are being made to stop the onslaught of illegal aliens from crossing our Southern Border.
'People have to apply for asylum in Mexico first, and if they fail to do that, the U.S. will turn them away. The courts are asking the U.S. to do things that are not doable!'

Trump went on to add in a separate tweet: 'The Caravans are a disgrace to the Democrat Party. Change the immigration laws NOW!'
It was not immediately clear where the additional travelers had materialized from since about 2,000 had been gathered on the Mexican side Saturday night.
They seemed likely to be people who had been waiting in the Guatemalan town of Tecun Uman and who decided to cross during the night.

Who knows. The border should be secured by the regular military a long time ago. America is finished as a secure nation from crime and drugs and will never change. Washington is dead and has been for many years. Never really looked out for us.

Yes. The logistics of this are pretty significant. You can't just have a crowd of 7000 take a long walk together for hundreds of miles. They are not "living off the land". They are being supplied, transported and housed at tremendous expense.

Probably the best thing is to start now. If they get soros transport they can be at the border in a few days and pretty well wherever they want on the 2m000 miles. The invaders will pick crossing at a highly populated area as to merge with Mexican citizenry, but have a 2,000 mile stretch to choose from. Doubtful they will pick a poorly fenced isolated segment easy to defend. Closing the border fully will have the advantage of totally pissing off the millions of Mexicans at the invaders whose livelihood depends on crossing legally for work or commerce. And of course shutting off the money transfer flow needs to be a part of the shutdown. You cannot wait for them to arrive, look how long it took just a few hundred to tear down, breach, then bypass the Mexican/Guat border. Took all of 5 minutes. Hopefully they already have full air monitoring of the spearhead breakaway groups that are scouting the best approaches and will take them out as they approach. May have to hire some cartel help, they seem to have no problem enforcing their cartel borders. They need to take out the caravan leaders/organizers that are obvious in their vests and bullhorns along with the military haircut types like the armed money handler(s) they took video of.
Let’s face it, if the invading hordes were inclined to vote Republican, a giant electrified border wall surrounded by a crocodile-filled moat would’ve been built decades ago.

1600 miles. On foot that should take anywhere from 60-100 days. The caravan left October 13th. You can bet the weekend before Election Day will be dominated by news media images of screaming toddlers and crying mothers being separated at the U.S. border.

7000 people using 1 gallon of water / day would use 73,500 gallons of water while crossing either a desert or jungle while moving at a brisk 4 MPH for 24 hrs/ day for 10.5 days.
Moving at these speeds will burn approximately 100 calories/ hour. meaning they will need approximately 2800 calories/ day.
1 pound of corn has a little over 1500 calories.
1 gallon of water weighs 8.3 pounds.
At two pounds of dried corn, and 1 gallon of water/ day, each person must carry 100 pounds of rations with them (50# if on a starvation march) while trotting 4 MPH for 24 hours/day for 10.5 days.
