Kamala Harris and other prominent Democrats want to repeal Trump's tax cuts and replace them with cash payouts for the poor and working class
With midterm elections 2½ weeks away and the 2020 presidential race around the corner, prominent Democrats are embracing an ambitious idea: Repeal and replace the $1.5 trillion Republican tax plan.
The proposals would get rid of the tax cuts and, in turn, funnel that money into government-guaranteed cash for low- and middle-income households.
Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., announced a plan this week that would give working families up to $6,000 each year, with the option of receiving monthly payments. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., outlined a similar idea last year. A bill from Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, D-N.J., would allow family caregivers and students to receive the money as well.

Destroying the economy because Democrats are politically disadvantaged by it seems like such a brilliant idea.
Obamanomics on steroids. Like they messed up health care, they want to take a giant wrecking ball to the economy.
They’re people who have no idea what they’re doing and after giving us free health care that turned to be more expensive, they want to give some of us free cash.
In the process, raising everyone else’s costs of living and reducing every one else’s take home pay.
That’s the way to turbocharge the economy? More like to flatline it.

He’s rich enough to make if work - let him put his money where his mouth is.
Boy, it would have been better if the Democrats announced they were cutting taxes on families making up to X by $6,000 a year.
That would twist their noodle.

Socialism is about shared misery. Capitalism is about shared prosperity.
This is one of the opening Salvo’s of Harris’s 2020 Campaign. I suggest that the Republicans should not take her lightly. She is an Evil, Manipulative person and if she can corner the Democrat CA Delegation, she can be considered a favorite for their nomination. It isn’t too early to start exposing her for what she is.
We need to repeal tax cuts to pay for it.
What is amazing is that there are Liberal economists our there (like Paul Krugman) who believe this kind of program actually works.
Every shop keeper knows more than most economists about how the economy actually works. They know that the price you sell a product for is based on what the market will bear. It's an auction.
All that said, the real downside of Kamala's idea is that it is nothing more than encroaching socialism.
Power is taken from the citizens.
Power is given to the government.
