Democratic Candidate Criticizes Agriculture Industry, Suggests Workers Transition To Renewable Energy Instead
The Democratic nominee in Georgias gubernatorial election had to walk back comments that suggested the agriculture and hospitality industries werent worth working in.
The controversy began when Stacey Abrams was giving a speech at Georgia Southern University as part of her We Are Georgia bus tour.
I want to create a lot of different jobs because people shouldnt have to go into agriculture or hospitality to make a living in Georgia. Why not create renewable energy jobs because Im going to tell yall a secret climate change is real, Abrams said Tuesday at the campaign rally.
Throughout the campaign, Abrams has been a big proponent of solar and wind energy, and has made fighting climate change a part of her campaign platform. The Democratic candidate went on to claim in her Tuesday speech that the state could create 25,000 to 45,000 good paying jobs if renewable energy industry is recognized as not only the future, but also as the now.
The insinuation that agriculture wasnt worth working in drew backlash from her critics. Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp, who is the Republican nominee in the election, suggested her comments were hurtful and an indication that she was spending too much time with her socialist backers in San Francisco.

Also from the article; The whole idea that she thinks the governor should have the power to create new industries is really what people I think should focus on,
Talk about socialism!
I just moved from Georgia, but I learned in four years how much of the state, and her economy, relies on agriculture. Heck, Georgia produces a big chunk of most foods that begin with a “p” (peanuts, peaches, pecans, pork) and is a big player in the blueberry market as well. Further, a LOT of folks in the mostly rural 2nd district are Democrats, and this will not encourage them to show up. You can’t win Georgia with 60% of Atlanta and little elsewhere. Brian Kemp is the Trent Dilfer of Republican candidates, but he can still win tje big one if the opposition fumbles.
Shes toast. Dumb and ignorant.
Wow....keep her talking
Then I want her to tell at what point in recent time the Quaternary has ended. It started 2.58 million years and is characterized by the cyclic growth and decay of continental ice sheets associated with Milankovitch cycles. I guess I should ask her if she understands what the word cyclic means!
19 Oct: Daily Caller: The Biggest US Oil Field Increases Its Output, Still Lowers Its Methane Emissions
by Jason Hopkins
The Permian Basin, the most productive shale oil formation in the U.S., has dramatically increased its oil and gas output in the past year. Production in the west Texas shale oil play rose from 1.9 million barrels per day in January 2016 to 2.8 million barrels per day by December 2017, according (LINK) to the Energy Information Administration.
Natural gas also experience substantial growth, with production increasing from 6.5 billion cubic feet per day to 9.3 billion cubic feet per day. Analysts predict (LINK) the region will keep producing at a higher rate.
At the same time, methane emissions saw a dramatic decrease. Oil and gas developers working in the Permian Basin saw their emissions drop by 100,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent from 2016 to 2017, according to data (LINK) provided by the Environmental Protection Agency...READ ON

Stacey, I'm going to tell you a secret, you're too stupid to pick up towels at a health club.
Dumb and ignorant.
All feels strongly, unquestioningly, that she knows whats best for everybody else.
poultry farms in the northeastern part of the state
Cotton and peanuts in the southwest
Vidalia onions (not a huge market) in the southeast.
When green energy can feed us, keep us warm, keep us cool and allow us to travel, then it will be time to move away from other forms of energy. Until then, we need fossil fuel, etc. People can be so ignorant and arrogant.
Her opponent should do all their ads in cursive ... will stump her and her supporters.
It seems to me that a woman with a body mass index that looks like a zipcode is being just a touch hypocritical to complain about the industry that provided her with the bounty that enabled her to become 60% body fat by weight.
Was listening to some Charlie Daniels in the car the other day...as one song said, “If the man don’t work, the People don’t eat...”
