Sen. Elizabeth Warren's ex-husband co-founded a DNA testing company and wrote one of the first computer codes for making genetic comparisons.
Jim Warren's career involved him in the kinds of genetic testing that Elizabeth Warren controversially invoked this month to prove that she had Native American ancestry.
One of the two other co-founders of his testing company, FamilyTreeDNA, has worked with Carlos Bustamante, the Stanford University geneticist who administered a DNA test at Elizabeth Warren's request.

Ex! Any wonder why?
How convenient!
Ex well that sure figures ...
X, smart move, doing her testing, not so smart.
I smell a native American rat. Oh,rats aren’t native to American.
X = smart move
Trump should Sioux her.
Now she has dragged this poor slob into the mix.
He thought he had cut her sorry A$$ loose, guess not
You get married and you find some sticks and you kill some buffalo and then you skin the buffalo and you take the hides and put them around the sticks and you make a nice little teepee.
Then, she says she wants granite countertops and a steam shower and the next thing you know, you have to cut the teepee in half and she runs off to be a paid liar at Harvard.
Just keeps getting better and better. Doesn’t our Donald have a rally tonight? Can’t wait to see how he’ll handle this new information.
As the article points out, FamilyTreeDNA specializes in Y-DNA analysis. In recent years, they have branched out to autosomal DNA, but they are best known for Y-DNA testing and they have the most active family DNA groups that, since they use Y-DNA analysis, are surname based. Not everyone who shares Y-DNA also share the surname for several reasons including the obvious fact that your father may not be the man listed on your birth certificate. But, more likely, Y-DNA lines extend beyond the use of surnames, at least in Europe.
I’m sure that Warren got expert help and advice, and I suspect that she was told about the weaknesses in her test, but she decided to run with it anyway thinking that the press wouldn’t know and wouldn’t care that her assertion was bogus. She was right about that, but she didn’t anticipate that many among the public had the expertise to smoke out her scam. As someone on TV pointed out, Trump got inside her head and she couldn’t help herself.
You cant make this stuff up!
Prof. Ford counseled people on how to take and beat lie detector tests and Warren’s hubby ran a dna place that could swing in any direction for components such as Latin American dna elements counting as Native Americans in Arizona if needed. What a scam.
Huh? I just twisted my brain into knot...reading that...
Well,well,well!
Warren probably tried 23andMe and did not get the results she wanted.
I am surprised she didn’t go to some Indian Reservation and ask some maiden to spit in a cup for here.
