The Wyoming Secretary of States Office today released data on the number of persons who changed their party affiliation on their voter registration in the weeks before or on the date of the 2018 Primary Election August 21st.
12,509 persons in total changed their party affiliation between July 6th and September 20th:

So your saying Republicans have a chance in Wyoming?
6,057 Democrats changed and registered as Republicans;
430 Republicans changed and registered as Democrats
~~~
Boom!
Even more amazing considering Wyoming was already fairly republican, wasn’t it?
I’m mildly surprised Wyoming has as many as 6000 Democrats to switch.
I’m mildly surprised that more than 10 pubs would switch to Dem.
I could see Ind but Dem?
Wyoming is super-majority Republican. Republicans control it totally. It may be that Democrats chose to register as Republicans in order to have a voice in the primaries.
Your take ?
How many have, or will, switch back now that the primary is over.
Boom!
Likely to be happening elsewhere.
I said I was Democrat so I could vote against Hillary in the primaries--and the general election too--as a Democrat.
Just a guess. Fed up with the DemoKKKrat Party.
We are seeing a sharp drop off in indies in NC and IA as well, meanwhile, since summer we have seen net gains in registration for Rs.
So the logical conclusion is that indies and Ds are “walkingaway.”
Wyoming probably needs a southern border wall with the greater Denver metro area.
Many states, like mine, Florida, have ‘Closed Primaries’ where ONLY PARTY MEMBERS can vote in their primary. Some states have ‘OPEN PRIMARIES’ where you get to vote in one or the other, but not both......................
It is surprising how many of these dimm snowflakes are in around these college towns like Laramie.
This comports with all the voter registration shifts I’ve been posting in ALL states (except CA, OR, CO, NJ, and DE-—by 100) for 2 years.
Nope. They missed the primary.
This is #WalkAway massive, and is completely in line with my findings in 10/12 battleground states where since 2016 Rs have racked up about a 500,000 net registration gain over Ds, including 60k in FL, 80k in NC, 13k in NM.
The bigger question is how many changed back after the primary.
Primaries have been a way to give the Media more control over the election process.
Traditionally, parties controlled who their candidates were.
Primaries gave the media another shot at having great influence on what candidates were considered acceptable for public office. The media had much greater influence on voters than on party leaders(at least on one party).
