Twitter has put 1,500 users in Twitter jail for what it calls "coordinated platform manipulation" but critics say it's nothing more than punishing humor.
Twitter says the accounts used cartoon avatars the creators call NPC's. In the gaming world that stands for non-playable character someone you meet while playing that is controlled by the game and whose sole job it is to pass on information.
Think the voice on your GPS.
Dan Gainor of the Media Research Center explains that those game characters "regurgitate the same thing over and over," and some creative Internet users are comparing that description to liberals.
The people who are calling liberals "NPCs" happen to be Trump supporters, too. It may have been good for a laugh for them but Twitter was not amused.
"Well, the people that work on Twitter are humorless to say the least," observes Gainor, "so while I think this is hilarious, they did not."
Reached by OneNewsNow for comment, a Twitter spokesman said via email that a company rule states users cannot use "misleading" account information to engage in "disruptive" behavior. One example given is the joke "urging" liberals to vote on Nov. 7.
The midterm primaries are November 6.

Twitter Google and Facebook are proving that its impossible for these companies to behave objectively.
..... They are only amused at Conservative-Mocking Humor .....
It's non-player character.
Now all of a sudden they get put in detention or kicked off entirely.
I wonder if there is a precedent for something like an easement. For example, if a rancher allows hikers and hunters to cross his property to get into a state park, and that rancher allows this to happen for over 7 years, then an easement is said to have been created. Now the rancher cannot all of a sudden decide that no one can cross his property to get into the park.
Have Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube created easements by allowing people to use their facilities for years? And is it now a violation of those 'easements' to shut them down with little or no justification?
Democrats as a whole are a humorless group.
They are the most humor challenged group of people I’ve ever met.
bkmk
My new tagline.
Hm?.....Interesting argument that I haven’t come across before.
Indeed!
Now that’s some funny code.
