Second Trump-era leaker sentenced to four years in prison
Washington Examiner ^ | Oct. 18, 2018

Former FBI agent Terry Albury was sentenced to four years in prison Thursday in the second leak prosecution of the Trump era, after federal prosecutors and a Minnesota judge rejected Albury's argument that more senior officials faced much lighter penalties for similar activities.

Albury's case was compared by some experts to the treatment men who led the FBI at the time of his leaks, who have not been prosecuted for their disclosures to reporters.

Albury pleaded guilty in April to two counts of violating the Espionage Act in what his attorneys called “an act of conscience." He is believed to have sent The Intercept documents that included a guide to informant recruitment and rules for seizing journalist records.

If we accept that the FBI is an enemy of the United States, then he was “in uniform” and should not be hanged.

Otherwise....

I must have been unconscious when this person was arrested.

I never heard of him, and I really try to pay attention.

He's got a point, but the remedy isn't to give him a slap on the wrist too. It's to prosecute those more senior officials for real. Good luck with that though from Jeff "I don't see a problem here" Sessions.

Cheryl Mills too. Granted immunity, then committed perjury.

A hardcore Supermax type prison or a Country Club type prison?

“Albury pleaded guilty in April to two counts of violating the Espionage Act in what his attorneys called “an act of conscience.””

Sounds like his conscience shouldn’t bother him for the next four years.

The article states that five have been indicted for leaking during the Trump Administration. They mention Reality Winner, but not the others.

this story isn’t about what we thought it was about. I was expecting to see the people that unmasked flynn, or leaked mueller details, or sent DJT’s tax return doing to the clink.

this is some guy in minnesota that leaked procedural stuff because he felt discriminated against.

He has not cooperated with Congress, failed to be transparent about his actions, and shown a lack of candor in the way he's characterized a number of events.

If you add refusal to turn over documents and refusal to attend a Congressional hearing, that's pretty much a full house of deception.

this story isn’t about Congressional hearings. it’s not even remotely related to any of the “trump investigations”.

Thanks for the heads up. Not sure this is directly coup-related though.

“Not sure this is directly coup-related though.”

It was totally pushing the coup’s Russian collusion narrative - releasing the existence of suspicious activity reports on Paul Manafort, Richard Gates, the Russian Embassy, Maria Butina, and Prevezon Alexander - implying that the suspicious activity was due to them colluding on the election (rather than the fact that had varied independent suspicious activites, at different points in time, years apart).

“Not sure this is directly coup-related though.”

We don’t yet know the details of how Mueller got evidence to prosecute Manafort.

It is possible that he had no grounds to support a subpoena for bank records, so they arranged for them to be leaked. Then the press story could be the basis for the subpoena.
