The televised debate on Tuesday between Ted Cruz and Beto O'Rourke was a massacre. O'Rourke has been reluctant to debate Cruz from the beginning, and with good reason (ironically, as a rule, an incumbent shuns debate) Cruz has successfully argued cases before the Supreme Court.
O'Rourke was occasionally flustered and almost succeeded in hiding it, while Cruz was confident and occasionally laughed at some of his opponent's assertions. But more than that, Beto relied on vague generalities about specific questions and on a couple of questions tried the politicians' tried and true tactic of avoiding answering a question by going off on a convoluted tangent. Twice Cruz pounced on that, pointing out that he hadn't answered the panel's questions. The specific subjects were how to pay for socialized medicine and how to secure the border (O'Rourke is on record on considering abolishing ICE). Cruz countered with specific numbers.

Given that Ted stood on stage with The Donald?
I think anyone else is a complete lightweight when it comes to memorable zingers.
Policy positions be damned, a political debate is now the YouTube clip that makes someone look like a moron.
I have not listened to Michael Medved now in almost a year, but I had him on yesterday when my service failed for my smart phone. He was treating this debate as though both sides did pretty well, That is, he made it sound as though Beto did a LOT better than most articles suggest while also giving the impression that Cruz at least held his own, and that’s about it.
I was reminded of why I don’t waste time with that guy any more. I finally just listened to music...
Ping.
“Ted steamrolls Beto”
This can’t be true because I saw this headline on Yahoo earlier (from Huffington Puffington Post):
“Simple Debate Question Stumps Ted Cruz Into 6 Seconds Of Painful Silence”
https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/ted-cruz-debate-silence_us_5bc6d1d3e4b055bc947b6b65
Of course, when you read the story you realize the headline is complete BS.
Really cute little Beto stickers adorn puddle jumper cars all over Boulder, CO
My brother still listens to Meghead but I cant stand him anymore.
His name is Robert.
He should say, “My name is Rafael Eduardo Cruz, but I go by Ted because I am an American who prefers to assimilate to the country of my citizenship. You are Robert Francis O’Rourke, and you go by the name Beto because it sounds Spanish and you are trying to pretend you are Hispanic when you are not at all. We should not have phonies as our Senator, Robert.”
Where are the polls? Usually this close to an election the dem media is tauting polls showing they are winning. I see none of that. Is it because after the 2016 election they are afraid to trust polls or are they really not doing that well? I would also like to see all republicans running ads pointing out how mean the dems have become and asking dem voters if that is really who they want to be associated with.
I refuse to answer polls anymore. Caller ID prevents my picking up. I believe many more conservatives do the same.
Well, we need to get the word out that all those Democrat Coloradans need to vote BETO! on election day ...
LOL! Been doing that for a long time. Then, IF they leave a message, I can call back IF I want to. Not on my contacts, no answer.
Add one thing: “I go by Ted just like Ted Kennedy did...”
Nobody ever heard of a “Beto Kennedy”...
I just hope Texans don’t get too complacent thinking it’s a done deal and stay home on election day.
I hope none of us gets complacent and stays home. Early voting begins on Saturday here in Nevada and goes until Nov 2nd. That’s 14 votes. Vote early and often. ;-) Lots of the local libs are suggesting you go and force the election officials to pony up provisional ballots if you, for what ever reason, don’t appear on their list as being registered. Just another monkey wrench (can I say monkey?) in the system.
Praying that they do not stay home, except for those of us who are disabled and can’t go to the polls for various reasons. I sent off an application for an absentee ballot long enough ago to have already received one, but nothing has arrived. I’m going to call and ask what’s going on today.
I just hope Texans dont get too complacent thinking its
a done deal and stay home on election day.

Keep in mind statewide offices, governor, etc are also on
the ballot. So my guess is turnout will be okay.

BINGO!!!!!!!!
