WASHINGTON -- This is why Republican Senate candidate Bob Hugin has been able to blanket the airwaves with ads attacking U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, making their race much closer than expected.

Hugin, a former Celgene Corp. executive, has pumped $24 million of his own money into the race, and his campaign has now outspent Menendez by almost 3 to 1, according to new Federal Election Commission filings.

Through Sept. 30, Hugin spent $22.7 million to $7.6 million for Democrat Menendez. He outspent Menendez, $14.1 million to $2.9 million, just in the last three months.

That money funded $9.3 million on media from July to September, compared with $1.8 million for Menendez.

It is an uphill climb to oust Democrats in New Jersey, but this guy Hugin has a chance against Crooked Menendez. The RNC needs to do whatever they can to help him in these last 20 days.

I’d like to see it happen, but as others have pointed out, NJ is a Dem cesspool. I think he gets it close, but he’s still going to lose by 5% or more.

I hope I’m wrong!

Think he is on his own $$$ wise. I think Hugin will be best served w/o Trump visit.

NJ & Philly market too expensive & RNC cashed needed in cheaper TV areas.

How anyone would trust / vote for Menendez is beyond me. We deserve what we get if we let this douche back in.

It really is amazing, but NJ has a lot of "diversity" and they all vote Dem.

I’m in MA and I’m about to see the voters re-elect Elizabeth Warren. Some states are hopeless.

People forget that pro-life, anti-tax Christie won 2 statewide elections here in NJ. The problem is that normals are streaming out of the state...

Nobody trusts Menendez; people who vote Democrat are usually paid to do so, with welfare or workfare (gubmint jobs). Everyone tied to one of those “breadwinners” is voting the D column.

The Founding Fathers never allowed people to vote who didn’t pay taxes; they knew those not contributing had no “skin in the game”. How far we have fallen...

In NJ a Republican candidate has to win 57% of the votes casted on election day to overcome entrenched, systemic, well practiced fraud in Democratic controlled urban areas. For example less than 80 people actually voted in one Paterson, NJ precinct, yet the machines recorded over 700 votes for the Democrat. If Trump wants to help Hugin, he should send in a Federal task force to monitor the vote on election day and put some fear in the Democratic fraudsters.

A GOP candidate should never lack for money. There are enough of us where a small contribution should finance their campaign. If he wins putting up his own I hope we’ll step up and replenish his supply. That is if he ‘lent’ the money but I don’t think so.

Seems as if no one wants to call in the Election board workers , each making $200 for the day, to explain their certification of the results of their poll location.

Since it's HIS OWN MONEY, so what?

That is the great thing about America, I can spend my money anywhere I want to, without permission from my liberal betters.

True. Much of the diversity votes along ethnic lines.

Ms. Hillary arrives

The folks at the National Republican Senatorial Committee are having too much fun with the video of Hillary Clinton’s latest encounter with forces beyond her control as she arrives at a fundraiser for New Jersey sleazemeister Senator Bob Menendez. The metaphor is irresistible. NRSC Digital Director Jon Adams looses a zinger along with the video below. The soundtrack borrows from the theme of the Larry David/HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larry and HBO will no doubt be protesting the inhumanity of the thing any second now.

The exception is governor. NJ flip flops between Republican and Democrat governors. The cycle goes that we elect a democrat who says he's a working class champion, then he immediately raises the roof on taxes and regulates everything. People get fed up fast and toss him out after one term. A GOP replacement is found who says he'll roll it all back. Once in office, he forgets he promised that and instead does mostly nothing. He might even raise taxes, as Christie did. When it's time to replace him, people are so irritated with him that they put in a Dem. And the cycle is begun anew. Note, it's a ratchet that only goes upwards towards more and more oppressive taxation and freedom choking laws.

He is a creep who goes to bed with teenage prostitutes in the DR, then lectures Brett Kavanaugh on #metoo. Typical liberal Dem hypocritical scumbag. TLDHS. I have written that too many times.
