The Canadian government is ready to pardon those with a cannabis possession record of 30 grams or less as the country becomes the worlds second and largest country with a legal national marijuana marketplace.
Canada legalizes marijuana: here's everything you need to know Read more A federal official said Canada would pardon people with convictions for possessing up to 30 grams of marijuana, the new legal threshold, with a formal announcement due later on Wednesday.
The use of medical marijuana has been legal in Canada since 2001 and Justin Trudeaus government has spent two years working toward expanding that to include recreational marijuana. The goal is to better reflect societys changing opinion about marijuana and bring black market operators into a regulated system.

I just came back from Vegas. I smelled pot in the air all over the place.
As if Canadians need to become any more mellow, eh?
Invest in poutine futures!!
You gotta do something when you are buried in snow.
“Oh Canada!”
Great! Now maybe some of the loons that swore theyd leave for Canada when Trump was elected will finall leave.
I’m not convinced that reliance on marijuana is a good thing. It’ll take a few generations to learn the full impact on peoples health, independent action and the caliber of our daily lives.
Woo Hoo!

Watch Maple Syrup prices skyrocket on increased demand.
So, after legalization, the next fight is where stores can be located.
In CO, towns/municipalities have to opt-in to actually have a local recreational pot shop.
In MA, since it comes after CO and because the potsters realized opt-in ain’t so hot, towns/municipalites have to opt-out to have a pot shop.
With decriminalization/legalization, what about rules on pot shops opening in Canada? Clearly, some guidelines are put in place... can they go basically anywhere (presumably with minimum distances from schools)?
Correction to MA: We have to opt-out to NOT have a pot shop in town.
Meanwhile, here in MA, we voted to legalize two years ago, and not one shop has been permitted to open...
I was in Colorado and California recently and I didn’t really notice it. I spent a couple of days in downtown and Denver and expected to see it everywhere. I went into a pot dispensary to check it out.
Price of pot plus 9% state tax plus 23% pot tax. I’m surprised every money grubbing politician in the country isn’t selling out to get their hands on that amount of cash. You can buy a lot votes with 32% of a billion dollar industry.
I am pissed because its legal in MD, and we have 2 of these stupid dispensaries within 2 mi on the major strip near our home. My mother sees them and asks what they are, which I have to quell in front of our 10yo son. Still too young to hear about it, I think.
Damn hippies. Sick of them getting their way in everything.
Canbabis is legal in Colorado and you can buy it in a shop.
This is old news.
I recently drove into Maryland from West Virginia. The very first thing that greeted me as I crossed the state line was a HUGE neon sign atop a pot dispensary.
I read that pot is being put into candies and drinks so I guess Canadians can-
“Eat Their Weedies” not to mention drink them.

Witness Cypress. There is a long history of hashish in Cypress, and there is a very large population of people who sit on benches and have no minds left after smoking hashish their entire lives.
