Every time Trump says something particularly inflammatory, he does it to control the media:
1. To change their focus2. To take oxygen from an opponent's messaging so it happens in an empty room
3. To take the light and heat off something happening behind the scenes that needs quiet to resolve
4. To split his opponent's energy into different areas and dissipate it with no impact.
He is a zen master. It is purposeful. Ask his opponents.
Best just to leave it alone period. The media reported he won the lawsuit, and his supporters spread that all over social media yesterday.
Trump has good political instincts most of the time, but sometimes he says things that hurt him. I recall before the Wisconsin primaries that he Tweeted that Tweet about Ted Cruz’s wife, and that hurt him in the polls. He lost Wisconsin. He went on to win then because the voting went up east.
When he counterpunches a politician, media figure, or even an actor, I usually say he’s right on, but going after her appearance and putting Stormy in the press as a sympathetic figure isn’t helpful. He just won that battle, but spiking the football helps her.
You do realize that for the last couple of weeks she has been on CNN talking about Trump's PENIS?

She could have been someone’s beautiful wife and a mother of a host of great kids.
Instead she sold her soul to whoredom... and it has ruined not only her life but all of those around her... who used to lust after her. They had lust... but she has no love.
And suing the president, and making false allegations... have destroyed whatever there was left in her soul.
