The battle over the Supreme Court merely reflects the hostility that underlies American politics today. It is fashionable to blame President Donald Trump for all the nation’s ills. However, his success grew out of the political war that liberals have been waging on the American people for years.
Abraham Lincoln observed that all the armies of the Earth could not take over America. Rather, he warned: “At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer. If it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time or die by suicide.” In other words, we will destroy ourselves.
He knew of what he spoke. A terrible civil war tore our nation apart and almost ended this great experiment in self-government. Once the conflict ended there was no guarantee that Americans would come back together. Ironically, Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, one of Lincoln’s greatest antagonists, demonstrated how to do so.
It is sad that today it is controversial to say anything good about those who fought for the South. But we should be careful judging people who lived in a different time with today’s standards.

You seem to forget that certain people after that bloody war continued to kill those on the other side for 100 years.
Not sure I would call that "getting along".
To kiss and make up the left will have to make some drastic changes. Doing their best to destroy America in every way they can simply won’t do.
They will also have to accept election results and move on rather than these endless childish tirades which the enemedia is most guilty of.

Different time, different issues, different culture. Honor and mutual respect were common virtues back then which are now long gone.
Today, we are fighting the outright overthrow of a duly elected government. We are now facing socialist/communists internally like never before. These POSs are outright godless communists....there is NO reconciliation with communists. IF they could get away with it, they’d kill every last one of us tonight. To try to reconcile will land you in a concentration camp....or dead. It’s about reached the point of “do or die”. Many of us don’t plan on surrendering or dying on our knees.
Hillary already said they don’t have to be “civil
with people” who are against what she believes and stands for on her side.
There is no possibility of discussion now if Hillary ended it.

Our ancestors didn’t have the anonymity of social media, massive illegal immigration, pandemic lawlessness, a media that is completely in the tank for one party, and large segment of the population that simply refuses to accept the legitimate outcome of a presidential election.
Times have changed.
The press must “come to Jesus” and be fair as well as free in order for reconciliation to be possible. I’m not holding my breath.
Used to be both sides had, more-or-less, the same moral and spiritual foundation.
That no longer exists and without, there is no reconciliation.
Reconciliation can begin after their will to fight has been broken.
Yeah, I can’t reconcile with aunt tifa, blm, schumer, pelosi, herself, mad max or any of their ilk. So I oil my rifles with an impatient resolve. They have set the stage. I can only be a player upon it.
War sometimes IS the answer. . .the Left must be crushed and defeated, their evil spirit broken . . then, maybe, we can talk reconciliation.
