Dont tell the NRA. Theyll be more than happy to compromise on such a bill. They always are. Bullcrap. Our gun rights would be long gone if not for the NRA. The left knows this and that's why they hate the NRA and are doing everything in their power to destroy us. People like you just help them in that. They don't care about other gun rights groups because they know they are ineffectual.

Yeah, Im way out of line for noticing that the NRA compromises on literally everything. Every. Single. Thing.
Gun Owners of America is a no-compromise gun lobby. Check them out.
Jews for the Preservation of Firearm Ownership used to be as well until they were the victim of a hostile takeover by compulsive compromises. I miss them.

“on literally everything. Every. Single. Thing”
That’s literally a lie. I’m well familiar with GOA. Like I said the left never attacks them because they know they have never actually accomplished anything. Literally.

Can you name an anti-gun bill they refused to compromise, even a little bit, on.
To: E Pluribus Bellum
All the ones they stopped cold for the last 15 years. The Harry Reid never brought one to the floor because of the NRA. Like renewing the AWB.

"Dont tell the NRA. Theyll be more than happy to 'compromise' on such a bill. They always are."
"Im not sure I trust the NRA to do with this what is required.
I think the NRA is soft."
That's what David Hogg, his bald sidekick and their kind say. I disagree in general with that lifestyle.

Oh, come on. The NRA is always open to common sense compromise. Just because theyve had a few notable wins doesnt mean they dont compromise.
Interestingly, I notice that the leftists never compromise on anything.
To: E Pluribus Bellum
You love to make accusations, but never have any facts. Name one gun control bill the NRA supported in the last 20 years, or before that? What “compromises” have they made, and when? Give me your very best example of one gun control bill that got passed with their support.

The NRA supported the National Firearms Act of 1934, the Federal Firearms Act of 1938, and the Gun Control Act of 1968, for starters. Heres what they had to say about it:
"The NRA supported The National Firearms Act of 1934 which taxes and requires registration of such firearms as machine guns, sawed-off rifles and sawed-off shotguns.
NRA support of Federal gun legislation did not stop with the earlier Dodd bills. It currently backs several Senate and House bills which, through amendment, would put new teeth into the National and Federal Firearms Acts." American Rifleman, March 1968, P. 22
In 1968 they lobbied the federal government to make the age for handguns 21 and increasing penalties for earlier gun law violations. They supported the Gun Free School Zones Act and Project Exile. Theyre all in on bump stock legislation and they also support these new star chambers called red flag laws with some minor and unspecified restrictions. The red flag laws are the worst gun laws in my lifetime.
So, my question is what laws have they refused to compromise on? If you can find one then Ill cede the point. To be clear, Im not anti-NRA and Im certainly not anti-gun; Im anti-compromise and I think the NRA does too much compromising.
To: E Pluribus Bellum
The 1934 and 1968 bills were passed in a different era. The NRA was not really a political organization then. None of the people who ran it then are even alive today. We did support Project Exile, which was about prosecuting people caught actually using guns in crimes. So do the vast majority of gun owners. You claim we are “all in on bump stock legislation” and “red flag” laws; where’s your evidence? You have none. The NRA picks these laws apart in detail to show how impractical they are, which you mischaracterize as “compromise”. Again name any gun control law passed in the last 50 years that the NRA supported. You can’t. All you do is whine about the one organization that is effective in stopping the gun grabbers, and try to get divert donations to groups that have no clout. There’s a reason the left weaponizes government to go after the NRA, and why they don’t worry about the GOA.

Wait, what? Its OK that the NRA was a proponent of all the laws I listed because somehow or another that was a different era? Is it OK with you that the NRA has not tried to repeal any of this odious legislation in the decades since? Its not OK with me.
How about all the recent NRA capitulation on bump stocks? They actually asked the BATF to regulate them (not that Im a bump stock fan, its the principle I object to). You asked for specifics, there it is. What about their rolling over on these new red flag laws? I view that as the worst thing to happen to our gun rights in my lifetime? Have you somehow rationalized their poor advocacy somehow? I havent.
And Im whining when I point out that the NRA keeps capitulating? Give me a break. I want my money back from my lifetime NRA membership.
To: E Pluribus Bellum
Actually I asked for evidence. Show me where that was their position, not just your mischaracterization of it. Show me an official statement where the NRA has endorsed a “red flag” law, or a bump stock ban. You saying so doesn’t make it true.
The fact is the NRA has killed hundreds of gun control bills, the GOA has done squat but fundraise. Your saying they never met a gun control bill they weren’t ready to compromise on is a blatant lie.
You seem to not realize that the NRA is a grass roots organization that is made up of people elected by their six million members. If you don’t like their positions elect new board members. Personally I’m pretty good with people like Ted Nugent and Ollie North, and I care a lot more about what is actually accomplished than hypothetical positions on repeals that are politically not going to happen anytime soon. Support whoever you want, but I’m not going let lies about the NRA go unchallenged.
Like I said, the left tells you who they fear, and it isn’t the hapless GOA.
