It’s just not a big deal.

The Saudis are not, nor never have been a liberal democracy.

They execute people for all kinds of crazy, medieval reasons. They cut the hands off of thieves. They are barbaric.

I do like the new Prince. Especially that he wants to roll some of this back and reform. However, it’s all relative. They’ve got A LONG way to go.

I’m not too unhappy over a MB activist either. Play dangerous games, win dangerous prizes.

Now, having said all that, the US urinalists are making a big deal over it to attack Trump, and that pisses me off. Quit yer whining, you FAKERS!!!

Maybe when Jim Acosta is dismembered and buried out back we can commiserate with them, but this is the inhumane Saudis, not Donald Trump who may have done this, for goodness sakes!

Now the Anti-semites are getting on board. Several links pop up about how “Zionist” Trump is doing the bidding of his Jewish/Saudi masters. Too funny.

BTW, A Zionist is someone who believes the land of Israel is the natural home of the Jews.... Count me in. I’m a Zionist, too. Every Christian is—or should be!

For many years the average Turk on the street was filled with pride and Ataturk was their “George Washington”. They admired the West and made moves to emulate the culture of freedom and capitalism. Unfortunately much of Turkey has drifted toward Islamic fundamentalism during the past couple decades. Obama and Clinton looked the other way as our NATO ally played footsie with Iran and Russia.

Unfortunately, when you read about the Saudis and I just covered about a dozen websites all commenting on the Saudis only a few are aware of who MBS,Mohammad ben Salman, is and what he has done for Saudi Arabia.

He has gotten rid of many of the corrupt old liners in the kingdom and either jailed them or imprisoned them Saudi style in a 5 star resort but taken away all their assets their power and gotten rid of decades of institutionalized corruption by the cabal and 41. He has befriended Trump and as they say the rest is history.

The GCC, Gulf cooperation Council is changing things quickly as well.

It's a whole new day in Saudi Arabia. It's not the old Saudi regime by a long shot.

Just another thing I blame on the Leftists in the West.

Even before Jimmy Carter started the acute stage of Western capitulation to Jihad, guys like Frank Church, Ted Kennedy and George McGovern, plus most of the socialist/labor governments of Western Europe tried to curry favor with the despotic, Muslim oil states.

You can go back to the Suez Crisis of 1956 and see how we forced Israel to stop beating up poor Egypt—with the Marxist Nassar in charge—in order to avoid pissing off the Muslims.

When Israel conquered the West Bank they should have straight out annexed it and told any Arabs there they have two choices, swear loyalty to Israel, or pack their bags.

By making them stop full on control, the PLO was born.

And don’t forget the blunder of Saddam having WMDs. A slam dunk, Tennant said. OK, he had chemical weapons, but they were trash after Desert Storm. Most of this junk we also found, but where were the nuke labs (yellow cake?), the biological research labs, and all the rest Colin Powell showed us pictures of.

I think Saddam had more chemical weapons and sent them to Syria. But they were absolutely not maintained and never would’ve worked in a real war, probably killing those attempting to use them. We got bamboozled.

Then, of course, without the WMD, Bush changed it to nation building. Yeah, give Islamists the vote and who wins? ISLAMISTS!!!

Every chicken has come home to roost in the Middle East.

We need to just stay out, and keep any of them from coming here. Strict quarantine.

If they cause us trouble, the B-2’s at Whiteman AFB in Missouri can reach out and “touch” them.

I understand. I just also think they’ve got a long road in the prince’s effort to reform, that won’t happen over night. And I hope he’s fully committed to what is a life and death struggle against the Wahhabis in his country.

Aside from the Fundy 12th Imam Shi’a in Iran, there is no more greater evil in Islam than this group.

Seriously, MBS is like Queen Catherine de’ Medici, widow of Henry II of France, in the 1500s. She protected Protestant Huguenots from the Catholic church. She and her young sons, not yet to be kings, fought against the growing religious feuding, only to spawn the religious wars that Europe went through for 200 years of Protestant versus Catholic, finally ending with the Enlightenment.

Islam has yet to face such inward fighting. I see the prince as the beginning of this, but the end. Not in our life time.

Juust so we know who is who here is more on the source and his buddies for the Wapost article.
the Wapost source is Khaled Saffuri and the company he keeps is in jail namely this guy:Abduraham Alamoudi.

Meanwhile, fresh from their success with both the Clinton White House and the Bush family, Alamoudi began showering politicians of both parties with campaign contributions.

That all came to a screeching halt when Alamoudi was stopped in September 2003 at Heathrow Airport transporting $340,000 in cash. Deported back to the U.S., he was arrested at Dulles Airport.

Alamoudi was then charged with, and later pleaded guilty to, playing the role of bagman in an assassination plot by Libyan intelligence — with the assistance of al-Qaeda operatives — to kill then-Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah by attacking his motorcade with RPGs. He admitted he had received the cash from Libya and had traveled to the country illegally on another passport in violation of U.S. sanctions.

Alamoudi is currently serving a 17-year federal prison sentence.

Following Alamoudi’s conviction, Saffuri’s ties to U.S.-based terror financing investigations, as well as his promotion of Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader Sami al-Arian, came under scrutiny:

The scrubbers are very simple, they remove acidic gases by passing the gas through limestone. The pH has risen over time as more scrubbing has been done: https://www.des.nh.gov/organization/divisions/water/wmb/documents/acid-rain-report-summary.pdf

Acid rain might not have been as serious for trees or other wildlife as claimed. But the fact that it was more acidic and is now less acidic after scrubbing is a fact.

Nuclear has cost issues from overregulation. Some coal has indirect subsidies (health care for underground mining). Coal needs to be mined more safely, mainly mountaintop "removal" which is in fact not removal, just safer mining. It's also twice as productive as underground mining.

I agree about the cost effectiveness of natural gas. I think all three could be made more cost effective. But the one you left out is the most cost effective, which is hydro.

Your link supports what I said: "The costs of reducing SO2 and NOx emissions haven’t been that awful… And the reductions did lead to some beneficial incremental environmental effects… But… No acid rain crisis ever existed."

The key word that would make me agree with you is "crisis". There was acid rain, there is now less acid rain. But it was not a crisis at the time as pointed out in your link. My argument was with your wording.

Any small chance that Turkey had to join the EU is gone. In the meantime, Erdogan has been extorting Europe for money in return for stopping the flow of migrants thru Turkey.

John Russell in 1853, in the run up to the Crimean War, quotes Nicholas I of Russia describing the Ottoman Empire as "a sick man—a very sick man", a "man" who "has fallen into a state of decrepitude", or a "sick man ... gravely ill"

Agree with you on Mattis. He is definitely part of the Establishment. He wanted to hire Anne Patterson, but that was vetoed by the WH. He also put the brakes on Trump's desire to stop admitting transgender personnel into the military and paying for their surgeries.

Trump would like to get out of Afghanistan. Mattis and McMaster won the day as the troop numbers were increased. Trump may want to get rid of Mathis and pursue a different approach to American involvement in various conflicts. Of course, he still has Bolton to deal with.

You actually made my point better than I did. You did not bother to question science even when it is wrong. Just what the Marxists want you to do. You were the perfect example.

You failed to make your case in any meaningful manner, yet you still won’t give up on your delusions.

Time to let it go son.

Pot meet kettle. You made my case with no evidence and only belief in science. You attacked me, I just proved you wrong. You continue to prove my point.

I gave you evidence that you chose to ignore. You offered a slew of studies that prove nothing. I know how those studies work. They start with foregone conclusions then develop bogus models that serve only to support those foregone conclusions. There’s only one ignoramus here, and that’s you.

Evidence? What evidence? That metal roofs rusted from sulfuric acid? That is your proof of acid rain?

Give it up, even science admits it never existed in significant amounts. At what point do you stop digging?
