Former Vice President Al Gore said Friday that the United Nations' new report on climate change demonstrates that the world is experiencing a "global emergency."
“We have a global emergency,” Gore said in an interview on PBS NewsHour. "You use a phrase like that and some people immediately say, ‘okay calm down, it can’t be that bad.’ But it it is."
"What the scientists have warned us in this recent report is that if we do not take action quickly … then consequences down the road would be far, far worse than what we’re experiencing now," Gore added, stating that climate change could become an existential threat to civilization based on the report's findings.
His comments came days after the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released a report that included a range of dire warnings about the globe's warming climate.
The report noted that climate change could have catastrophic consequences in the coming decades if greenhouse gas emissions aren’t cut drastically by 2030.
Gore, who has long been a champion of environmental causes, said the report's authors "torqued up" their warnings in an effort to get the attention of lawmakers.
But President Trump appeared to show some skepticism about the report's authors when asked about its findings this week.
“It was given to me and I want to look at who drew it, which group drew it,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Tuesday. “Because I can give you reports that are fabulous and I can give you reports that aren’t so good."
Gore, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for his work on climate-related causes, ripped Trump over the comment, saying his approach to climate change is "literally insane" and that his reaction to the report is an "outlier."
"It's making the U.S. coming off like a rogue nation," Gore said, before adding that the "large carbon polluters" are Trump's buddies.
Trump's administration has weakened several Obama-era policies designed to cut back on emissions during his presidency. Last year, Trump pulled the U.S. out of the Paris Climate accord, an agreement reached by 195 countries to curb global greenhouse gas emissions through individual, nonbinding national plans.

The former VP is already in hot water, fighting abuse claims in Portland, where another masseuse said Gore groped her in ‘06 and asked her to perform a “chakra release” (massage-speak for “hand job”.) He denies everything.
The new allegations are said to have taken place at two hotels - one in Beverly Hills in 2007, when Gore was in Hollywood for the Oscars, the other in Tokyo in 2008.

Major error found in new UN IPOCC- UN distorted data from discredited study, scientist reveals.
The new UN IPCC report is facing even more credibility question after a climate expert found a glaring error in the use of climate data.
Dr. Ross McKitrick wrote on October 11: The “new [UN] IPCC SR15 report relies on Marcott 2013 to contrast recent warming with past 7,000 years. Marcott et al. said their study should not be used for that purpose after critics hammered their poor 20C data quality.”
McKitrick was referring to a 2013 study by Prof. Shaun Marcott of Oregon University, which claimed that current temperatures were the hottest in 4000 years. But the study quickly came under intense scrutiny as many scientists ridiculed the study’s claims and calls for retractions were issued. McKitrick’s 2013 analysis of the study that the current UN report relies upon, was scathing. Marcott’s “11,000-year study’s 20th-century claim is groundless,” McKitrick wrote in 2013.

But the new 2018 UN IPCC not only relied on the discredited 2013 Marcott study to gin up climate alarm, but the UN also misused the Marcott study in a way that the authors of that study explicitly warned should not be done.
Climate scientist Dr. Willie Soon, agreed with McKitrick’s analysis. “UN author Myles Allen and company (chapter 1 of SR15 report) really know better .., they are piling 30-yr averages onto 300-yr resolution record and played fast and loose on the rapid rate,” Soon told Climate Depot.
“There is ABSOLUTELY no science in IPCC reports these days … just political positionings,” Soon added.

The latest IPCC report moved even further to full political advocacy by using suspect statistics and claims to urge the world to
“unprecedented changes in all aspects of society.”
