McSally campaign releases video of Simena calling Arizona 'meth lab of democracy'

Rep. Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) on Friday released a video of her Arizona Senate race opponent, Rep. Kirsten Sinema (D), referring to Arizona's legislature as the "meth lab" of democracy during a Netroots Nation address in 2011.

"You can see in this very quote that the states are laboratories of democracy," Sinema says in the video, gesturing to a slideshow that is offscreen.

"And my state, Arizona, is clearly the meth lab of democracy."

It was unclear under what context Sinema made the comment, which elicits laughter and cheers from the audience.

"I cannot take credit for that line. Somebody at the Daily Show wrote it. But I'm happy to steal it and use it all the time," Sinema goes on to say.

In a tweet, McSally's campaign wrote that Sinema's comment was evidence of how the Democrat "mocks" her home state.

CAUGHT ON CAMERA AGAIN: @kyrstensinema mocks Arizona: "Arizona is clearly the meth lab of democracy."

— McSally For Senate (@MarthaMcSally) October 12, 2018 McSally's campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Hill regarding the video.

Sinema's campaign spokeswoman, Helen Hare, called the video a "ridiculous" effort by McSally to lash out at her opponent.

"This is yet another ridiculous and desperate attack from Congresswoman McSally and her Washington allies," Hare said in an email.

"Kyrsten was fighting back against out-of-state special interests who were working to take away Arizonans' health care, make tuition more expensive, and hurt Arizona families. Bottom line, Kyrsten will always stand up for Arizonans," she added.

The Arizona Senate race remains a tight battle between McSally and Sinema, with Sinema holding a slight advantage in most polling according to election analysis blog FiveThirtyEight as they compete for the Senate seat previously held by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

McSally has blamed her polling deficit in the traditionally-red state on moderate Republicans.

"We need Republicans to vote Republican. We’ve got some moderate Republicans who have seemed to have drank Kyrsten Sinema’s koolaid in the polling and we need to bring them back home," McSally said in an interview with The Jeff Oravits Show.

"We need the base and those who voted for President Trump also to be getting out to vote and be energized," she added.

However, an ABC15-OH Insights poll this week showed McSally with a 6-point lead over Sinema.

Rep. McSally needs to send Rep. Sinema a thank you card. It is impolite not to acknowledge a gift.

I hadn’t see her picture, Rep Sinema is cute; a breathtaking combination of arrogant and stupid, but also cute.

She’ll need that when she starts looking for a job next month.

“...as they compete for the Senate seat previously held by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).”

Really?

"Somebody at the Daily Show wrote it."

A politician should never take their talking points from basic cable comedy show especially if those talking points are mocking their own state.

Kyrsten Simena:
Another insane Democrat who is disconnected from reality;
who demands rule over the country and impose her crazy,
twisted desires and ideas on the nation.

McSally is a moderate and has a lot of support from the McCain wing. She was old Jawn’s choice. That’s why her campaign is so effective.

In Arizona, we get called stupid for electing Republicans. And a bunch of knucklehead freepers will call us names again not long after McSally enters office. The GOP-e rules this state and our choice is always between a nutbag Democrat and a Rino. We make the best choice we can and get called names by assholes from worse off states than we are.

As for Sinema, she is running the dumbest campaign ever. She sends out fliers all but telling people to vote for McSally. She is either insanely stupid or throwing the thing.

Lots of Mormons in AZ, much as I dislike mittens, he can probably pick up a few points for McSally.

McSally is beating the living crap out of Sinema. Today the stupid ditz is out on video telling the media that men
don’t deserve due process and that protesters that burn down neighborhoods should be respected.

I fought voting for McSally like crazy, but she has made a fool and an ass of Sinema. It’s like watching Trump. I just mailed my ballot for McSally.
