The top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee blasted the White House Thursday for picking nominees for the West Coast’s appeals court without consulting her, and saying one of the three doesn’t have any judicial experience.
President Trump named a new slate of court picks Wednesday, including three judges to sit on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
But Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California objected, saying she had tried to consult with the White House but was rebuffed.
She said she would withhold her blue slip, in a signal that she doesn’t acquiesce to the picks. Blue slips are a Senate courtesy that, at times, has given home-state lawmakers a chance to express acceptance of a nominee.

There are 9 left wing judges more on the court than Republican appointees. BUT....there are 7 open spots on that court. If President Trump’s nominees get pushed through the leftists will still have a majority on the 9th circuit but nothing like it used to be. That circuit will come close to being balanced instead of being the hardcore left wing “9th circus” its been for decades.

The US senate is constitutionally mandated but more of a hindrance than a help in our democratic republic. Grassley has largely been ignoring blue slips this year and after the Kavanaugh debacle Frankenstein ain't gettin' the time of day from Republican leadership.
Lincoln did in fact read for the law and passed the Bar. One of his clients was the Union Pacific Railroad.

Feinstein pointed out that since the Supreme Court first convened 220 years ago, a third of its justices had no judicial experience before joining the court.
