The president of Harvard sent this email to alumni, because a lawsuit accusing Harvard of discriminating against Asian students is coming to trial.

He lies. If "race may enter the process as one factor among many", that means Harvard *does* discriminate. If Harvard thinks having enough black and Hispanic students and not too many Asian students justifies discrimination, it ought to say so.

Liberal bullshit. If there is ANY consideration due to race, somebody gets bumped because they aren’t the correct race.

If Harvard and the rest of the Ivy Leagues truly want to have diversity of thought rather than narrow minded liberal ghettos they should all have a admissions program that offers 20 per cent of their scholarships to military veterans who are offered the same admissions standards as they do to attract minorities.Would not be a bad idea for Trump to threaten their federal grants if they do not adopt such a program

Let me guess there is one “race”/gender (WM) that is under represented and one that is over represented by 17 times. Want to guess?

To Harvard President: B.S.

Anyone want to know why there are so many Asians at Berkeley? (Close to 50% now.) Because the U.C. system is barred by Prop 209 from discriminating on the basis of race in admissions.

An awful lot of very smart kids at Berkeley (and UCLA and other Cal state schools) who were shut out of the Ivies and other private schools because of their race, even though they had higher GPAs and test scores.

When my son was applying to these types of colleges a few years ago, all the applications made a big deal saying how they don’t discriminate based on race etc.

Then they required a photo of the applicant be attached to the application. I always thought that was pretty ironic.

Admissions discriminates. They seek a “balance.” A certain percentage of Whitebread kids, who will pay full tuition. A certain percentage of one race, a disproportionate percentage of practitioners of a certain religion.

Admissions rewards failure and victimhood, and penalizes hard work and achievement.

"The College’s admissions process does not discriminate against anybody. "

If they did not discriminate, they would not need an admissions department as everyone that applied would be admitted.

Everyone discriminates. Every day. About all kinds of things.

Let me be unequivocal: The College’s admissions process does not discriminate against anybody. I am confident the evidence presented at trial will establish that fact.
**************************************
Meaning Harvard doesn’t discriminate against anyone other than WHITE AND ASIAN APPLICANTS.

"Let me be unequivocal: The College’s admissions process does not discriminate against anybody."

BS

Picking (selection) is by its nature inherently discriminatory.

Running the math could make it statistically obvious, even to the casual observer.

An intersectional analysis using, say, ten attributes would show statistically significant discrimination every day.

They don't discriminate against anybody. They just discriminate for everyone except the Asians. In fact they probably discriminate for Southwest Asians enough to make up for the East Asians.

Harvard may have racial, ethnic, religious, non-religious, “gender,” what-have-you diversity, but there is very little worldview or ideological diversity.

And most of the undergrads are near-alcoholics (or more than near) (along with many of the grad students and faculty).

The Supreme Court has twice ruled on this issue and has held up our admissions process

That was when Kennedy was there to join the libs. If Harvard goes back a third time, it may be a new ball game.

Reasonable people may have different views, and I respect the diversity of opinion that this case may generate. I would hope all of us recognize, however, that we are members of one community—and will continue to be so long after this trial is in the rearview mirror. What kind of community we will be, however, will be determined by how we treat each other over the next few weeks. As I said in my inaugural address, we must be quick to understand and slow to judge. I hope we will approach one another with mutual respect and consider all points of view, not just during the trial but also beyond it.

Really? I hope you are enjoying the hell on earth created by the "progressive" neo-Bolshevik views fostered by your academic colleagues on your, the same hell that the rest of us have to live in.

Some time ago I dated a woman who was a Radcliffe College grad...Radcliffe having had a long, long affiliation with Harvard before being "absorbed" by Harvard.

She told me that a classmate of hers, who was the Assistant Director of Admissions at Harvard, told her that were it not for the school's affirmative action admissions policy the entire Freshman class would consist of Asians and Jews.
