Let’s follow the logic.
Putting aside the fact that he used the word chink, not the term in the racist slur context, we accept that it is unacceptable to use it.
Darling himself is Chinese.
Therefore the common belief that blacks are allowed to use the N word is no longer valid.

“Chink in the armor” is an old one. When I was in graduate school many, many years ago (almost three decades ago, actually), a Hewlett Packard executive was giving a talk and talked about an Asian competitor having a “chink in its armor.” Several class members went crazy at the time and demanded an apology. Back then, he didn’t apologize and it just blew over. Today, it most definitely wouldn’t blow over. Of course, “chink” is as much of a racial putdown as “niggardly” is — just in the minds of the perpetually oppressed.

Chink in the armor is a place of vulnerability. Armor is metal. A chink is a place of no or thin coverage, or armor that is not properly connected. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Chinese people.
This comes from the same damnfools who don't understand the meaning and origin of niggardly, which has nothing to do with African-Americans.
