The narrow confirmation of now-Justice Brett Kavanaugh over the weekend marked a major political victory for President Trump and the beginning of a new battle for Democrats, who are now shifting their message to threaten possible impeachment against the newest high court justice and question the legitimacy of the Supreme Court itself.
After a grueling confirmation fight that included graphic sexual misconduct allegations which the nominee denied, Kavanaugh was confirmed Saturday on 50-48 vote. His ceremonial swearing-in will be held Monday evening.
But as he joins the court, replacing retired Justice Anthony Kennedy, prominent Democrats signal the fight over his seat and the court itself will extend well beyond next month's midterms.
"Now, they want to impeach him. ... It's an insult to the American public," Trump said Monday, still fuming over the confirmation process and predicting Republican candidates would only benefit from the controversy in the midterms.
Democrats, though, maintain the fight is energizing their core. "We will not stop marching, we will not stop fighting," DNC Chairman Tom Perez said in a statement.
Over the weekend, former Attorney General Eric Holder said the courts legitimacy should be brought into question with the addition of Kavanaugh.
With the confirmation of Kavanaugh and the process which led to it, (and the treatment of Merrick Garland), the legitimacy of the Supreme Court can justifiably be questioned. The Court must now provethrough its workthat it is worthy of the nations trust, Holder tweeted, referring to former President Barack Obama's Supreme Court nominee whose confirmation process was blocked by Republicans in 2016.

IMHO, there’s two or three reasons the insane POSs hate him so bad and want him out of there.
1. The case of the using of military tribunals for civilians that commit sedition and treason is going to come up. Folks like Hitlery, their so-called Blessed (fake) Messiah, and all their evil ilk should be, and are, crapping in their pantyhose.
2. They’ll no long be able to “legislate their vile crap from the bench” like they’ve been doing over the past 30 years or so.
3. Then, of course, there’s the abortion issue that could potentially be “at risk”.
Let em “feel the pain” as “elections have consequences”. What went around is now coming around to bite em in the azz. It will be bad for them.
Moment in time for Trump and other republicans to appeal to the “reasoned life-long democrats”. Blue dogs, union members, blacks and latinos that despise the radical freaks and sexual deviants that are demonstrating to a point of making asses out of themselves. So many democrat pols made it clear that you can be guilty regardless if there is no corroboration.
They didn’t change one Senate vote with all their skullduggery. The public has been outraged over it. Now they’re going to utilize the same policy they did on Kavanaugh, to attack the full SCOTUS.
This is one of only three branches of our Federal Government, the Executive, the Legislative, and the Judicial branches of our government.
By attacking the SCOTUS, they are attacking our nation.
It’s time for some legal push-back on all this, and it should start with the Crime Boss and funder, George Soros.
Put the man in prison where he has belonged for the last 50 or 60 years.
Where are they getting all this funding? Follow the money and I bet you will find the hard core leftists as well.
“Time to probe sotomayor and kagan.”
We have no need to conduct ourselves like the Democrats do.
What is imperative is that we nip this “Illegitimate Supreme Court” pardigm in the bud, and that means aggressively investigating and prosecuting everyone who conspired to assassinate Brett Kavanaugh’s character with baseless accusations.
Kavanaugh deserves to have his name fully cleared, which means Blasey-Ford, Avenetti, Swetnick and all the co-conspirators should probably end up in prison.
We in Alabama well know that national guard troops have been used before to enforce court orders.
>>e have no need to conduct ourselves like the Democrats do.<<
I respectfully disagree.
I grew up in the barrio. The only proper response to a switchblade is a gun.
They decided there are no rules.
Sew the wind, reap the whirlwind.
“Civility” is now dead.
Winter is coming.
Just enforce the laws and throw some traitors in jail, or better yet hang a few of them.
Communist agitators, also known as community organizers, frequently have no apparent means of support. Start by having the IRS find their income to support their lifestyle. Track down some false Social Security numbers (Barry Sotoro has several) and APPLY THE LAW like they do the rest of us peons. Hell, if the law isn’t going to be applied to all equally then why should I?
I can tell you this; If I was given a congressional subpoena and then intentionally and obviously destroyed evidence and obstructed justice, I would not be a free man. -Why is Hillary?
Pres. Trump’s tweet sum it up perfectly. Democrats. Too extreme and dangerous to govern.
Agreed...I’d bet the farm George Soros and one or two other rich commie radicals are funding this entire movement.
Go after them, like you say legally and make examples of them.

Does your disagreement take into account the fact that the Democrat’s vile tactics fail over and over again? Just ask Justice Kavanaugh.
his general political leanings are not liked here but Alan Dershovitz DOES speak truth to power...one of the few on the left that does nowadays. I appreciate that.
If there is any constitutional branch of government that is not legitimate, it is the legislative branch. Not that the judicial is at this point, but at least it looks like there is change coming to it for the better.
I agree, Alan Dershowitz is an honest liberal.
Technically, they did. They prevented Daines from voting.
As it stands, Democrats can always say that Kavanaugh failed to get a majority of Senators, even though we know he had at least 51 votes for him.
Also, if this vote happened two weeks ago, would Murkowski still have been a no?
Also, might Donnelly, Klobucher, and McCaskill have been willing to roll the dice two weeks ago when the polling was murkier? By the time they did vote (and after the disgusting Democrats' antics), that die was cast.
I think that Kavanaugh had a credible chance of getting 53 votes if the voting happened 2 weeks ago.

Revenge is sweet, payback is a MoFo.
Smart people know the adage: honey on the tongue, ice water in the veins.
Still whining about Garland. Of course, WE haven’t forgotten Bork, but we use him as a cautionary tale of what democrats can do (and as a guide to whom we can safely pick). The democrats are out for payback, and now they’ve expanded their fury to including tearing the whole thing down. Some democrat operative was on t.v. last night, saying every president should get to pick 4 justices for the court, with 4 year terms. Incredibly, his rationale was that “it would take the politics out of the SC!” They keep changing the goalposts. When the SC is dominated by left leaning judges, they’re good with that. Imagine their angst and antics when RBG dies, and Clarence Thomas announces his retirement. (Which of course, I’m sure he’ll do at the end of this session, to avoid a SC pick in a presidential election year.)
Theyve just got so much invested in those pussy hats, theyve GOT to get some use out of them....
Let them cut 3 holes in them and make cat diapers out of them!
Great to hear, my FRiend.
I believe that’s probably happening in a lot areas around the country, decent people can only take so much.
The RATs/media went way over the line on Justice Kavanaugh’s advise & consent process and confirmation.
Good to see you, welcome back!
